Thursday’s Friday Night Kickoff Player Spotlight brings you one of the Mid-Penn’s most physical two-way playmakers: Trinity Shamrocks junior LB/RB, Brandon Harris.

Harris was an absolute workhorse for the Shamrocks in 2025, making his presence felt on both sides of the football during Trinity’s run to a District 3, Class 3A Championship. Out of the backfield, Harris powered his way to 1,214 rushing yards, establishing himself as one of the area’s toughest runners to bring down. But when the offense left the field, his impact didn’t stop.

Harris was just as dominant at linebacker, piling up 103 tackles and providing a physical presence in the middle of the Trinity defense.

1,200+ rushing yards. 100+ tackles. District Championship....and he did it all as a junior.

Now entering his senior season, Harris has an opportunity to take another major step forward and will undoubtedly be one of the biggest pieces of a Trinity team looking to make another championship run in 2026.

Keep an eye on Brandon Harris this fall... whether he’s carrying the football or hunting down the guy who is, you’re going to hear his name plenty.

Trinity begins its District 3 Title Defense on Friday, August 28 as the Shamrocks host Susquehannock at 7:00pm in Camp Hill.

🔥 Wednesday Player Spotlight 🏈

This week's Friday Night Kickoff Player Spotlight highlights an explosive playmaker looking to build on 2025's success: Jersey Shore junior quarterback, Nolen Pauling.

Poised. Athletic. Explosive. Those are just a few words to describe the young gun directing one of the most explosive offenses in the PHAC and District IV. Pauling made his presence known under center during the 2025 season as he took the reins for the Bulldogs, turning heads early and showcasing his playmaking ability as he effectively led one of Conference's most consistent programs.

An injury in the District IV Championship cut his remarkable sophomore campaign short. Now entering his junior season, Pauling returns with a great opportunity to take an even bigger step forward in 2026. A duel-threat, Pauling encompassed 1,914 passing yards and 17 TDs in the air while rushing for 575 yards and 10 scores. He gives the Bulldogs a dynamic presence at quarterback and will be a major piece of an experienced Jersey Shore offense this fall.

Expectations are always high in Jersey Shore, and with Pauling continuing to develop at the most important position on the field, the Bulldogs have plenty of reason for optimism heading into the new season.

Jersey Shore opens its 2026 season at Thompson Street Stadium on Friday, August 28 as the Bulldogs host the North Schuylkill Spartans at 7:00pm.

🚨 PRESEASON MID-PENN TOP 10 🚨

#4: Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers 🚂

This ranking was very, very tough. It's hard to argue with the résumé Steelton-Highspire has put together. The Steamrollers finished 10-3 (8-1) in 2025 with a District III Championship, adding yet another double-digit win season to a program that has become synonymous with winning football and championship expectations.

Despite being one of the smaller schools in the Mid-Penn, Steel-High continues to prove that size doesn't determine success. The Steamrollers bring speed, athleticism, physicality, and a winning culture onto the field every Friday night.....and they've shown time and time again that they can compete with just about anybody.

The Steamrollers' momentum was brought to an abrupt halt in the 2025 PIAA State Playoffs, losing to the eventual State Champions, Southern Columbia. There will be production to replace heading into 2026, but if there's one thing we've learned about Steel-High, it's that the next group always seems ready to step up. After four straight double-digit win seasons, there's little reason to believe the Steamrollers won't once again be right in the middle of the championship conversation.

With as tough and gritty as the Mid-Penn Conference is, expect these Top 10 Rankings to be shaken up a LOT as the season unfolds. But for now, Steel-High takes the #4 spot.

🚨 PRESEASON PHAC TOP 10 🚨

#4 Mifflinburg Wildcats 🐾

The Wildcats have emerged as one of the top teams to watch in the PHAC, as Mifflinburg enters 2026 with expectations of once again being right in the mix near the top of the conference.

Mifflinburg has continued to build a program that can compete with anyone on its schedule. After falling to Scranton Prep, 28-21, in the first round of the PIAA State Playoffs just a season ago, the Wildcats look to turn the page with the returning core and several other key pieces that are ready to step into bigger roles. With this, the Wildcats have all the ingredients to put together another strong season.

The road won't be easy with a loaded PHAC schedule ahead, but Mifflinburg has shown it can battle with the conference's best. If the Wildcats can build momentum early and stay consistent throughout the season, don't be surprised to see them making some serious noise when the postseason rolls around.

Mifflinburg lands at #4 in the Friday Night Kickoff Preseason PHAC Top 10.

🔥 Thursday Player Spotlight 🏈

Today's Friday Night Kickoff Player Spotlight looks to one of the Mid-Penn's most dominant defensive forces: Steelton-Highspire linebacker, Ni'Shaun Ward-McMullen.

At 6'2, 220 pounds, Ward-McMullen established himself as one of the conference's elite defenders during the 2025 season. The hard-hitting linebacker piled up 98 tackles and 15 sacks, helping lead the Steamrollers to a 10-3 (8-1) record and a District III Championship.

Known for his physical style of play, relentless motor, and ability to disrupt offenses, Ward-McMullen enters 2026 as the heartbeat of Steel-High's defense. Whether he's stuffing the run, chasing down quarterbacks, or making game-changing plays, expect opposing offenses to know exactly where No. 5 is every snap.

Ward-McMullen enters the 2026 season as one of the top defensive players in the MPC and will be a major reason why the Steamrollers expect to compete for another district title.

Steelton-Highspire opens its District Crown-defending season on Friday, August 28, when the Steamrollers travel to Eastern York for a clash with the Golden Knights at 7:00pm.

🔥 Wednesday Player Spotlight 🏈

This week's Friday Night Kickoff Player Spotlight shines on one of the PHAC's most explosive playmakers: Mount Carmel Area wide receiver, Jaylen Delaney.

Delaney was a force to be reckoned with on the gridiron in 2025, and to say he's had one of the most historic careers as a Red Tornado would be an understatement. Delaney emerged as one of the Red Tornadoes' biggest offensive threats during the 2025 season, racking up 850 rushing yards and 403 receiving yards, totaling 16 touchdowns - proving to create big plays whenever the ball was in his hands.

Delaney enters the 2026 season poised to be one of the conference's premier playmakers on both sides of the ball. His leadership and experience will be pivotal in what looks to be another promising season for the Red & White.

As the Red Tornadoes look to return to championship contention, expect Delaney's role to play a major part in leading one of Pennsylvania's most tradition-rich programs.

Mount Carmel Area opens its 2026 season at the Silver Bowl on Friday, August 28, when the Red Tornadoes host Schuylkill Haven at 7:00 PM.

🚨 PRESEASON MID-PENN TOP 10 🚨

#5: Line Mountain Eagles 🦅

We have reached Mid Penn Conference's the top 5...and this week, we have the Line Mountain Eagles flying in at #5!

What a phenomenal, memorable season Line Mountain put together in 2025. The Eagles enter 2026 looking to build off an outstanding 11-1 (8-0) campaign that saw them establish themselves as one of the Mid-Penn's top contenders. While they'll have several key contributors to replace, Line Mountain returns the winning culture to once again compete in one of the Pennsylvania's toughest conferences.

With standout running back Kaden Dunkelberger back to lead the offense, Line Mountain has all the pieces needed to make a deep playoff run and challenge for conference supremacy.

After just falling short of their first-ever state playoff win a season ago, the Eagles will once again be one of the toughest teams in the Mid-Penn in 2026.

🚨 PRESEASON PHAC TOP 10 🚨

#5: Montoursville Warriors ⚔️

BEHOLD...the Top 5 is here! In this week's Friday Night Kickoff Preseason PHAC Top 10... next up, the Montoursville Warriors check in at #5!

Montoursville put together a strong season in 2025, winning 9 games and finishing 3rd in the Heartland-II. The Warriors continued their tradition of winning football, building on a talented roster and disciplined style of play. Now entering 2026, Montoursville returns plenty of experience, including one of the PHAC's brightest young quarterbacks in Elijah Eck, giving the Warriors every reason to believe another successful season is on the horizon.

Montoursville has become one of the conference's most consistent programs, and with another offseason of development, this team has the talent to compete and make a deep run in the playoffs. If the Warriors continue to grow on both sides of the ball, don't be surprised to see them moving up in the rankings or making noise in the PHAC.
