The Movement & Co. Dance and Performing Arts was established in 2010. We are located in Harrisonville, MO!

We have been teaching the art of dance to recreational and competitive level dancers since opening. We offer a variety of classes and opportunities to learn the disciplines of Tap, Jazz, Jazz Technique, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and TUMBLING for students 2 years of age and older. Our students come from all over the Kansas City area to take classes from our highly qualified instructors. We have students from Raymore, Belton, Peculiar, Harrisonville, Grandview, Lee's Summit and Archie!

We are SOOOO EXCITED to wish a big CONGRATULATIONS to our 2026-2027 Pre-Company Dancers! We will be taking 28 talented and ambitious young dancers onto the competition stage this season with our Mini Movers, Rising Stars and Adaptive Company! Season 17 is off to a great start! We are so excited to watch these dancers shine on that big stage!!! 🤩🙌🏼🧡🫶🏽

WE’RE SO BACK!!! Season 17 starts TODAY, and we could not be more excited!

We feel incredibly blessed by the way this community has embraced The Movement & Co! With enrollment at an all-time, 17 year high, we’re heading into this season feeling more grateful and excited than ever.

We cannot wait to see what this year has in store. Here’s to new friendships, big dreams, lots of dancing, and a season full of memories we’ll never forget. 🫶

We are so excited to welcome Jana Bruce to our TMC staff for Season 17! 🧡

Jana will be teaching our NEW 18+ Adaptive Movement class, held Thursdays from 9:00–9:30 AM!

Adaptive Movement is a FREE dance class specially designed for dancers with physical and/or developmental disabilities to experience the joy that dance can bring into one’s life. 🫶

Through a differentiated curriculum focused on each dancer’s individual abilities, this class will work to foster a love of dance, build confidence, encourage self-expression through movement, and create meaningful relationships with others.

✨ Ages 18+
✨ No prerequisites
✨ FREE to participate
✨ Thursdays | 9:00–9:30 AM
✨ Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in our Spring Recital!

We are incredibly excited to expand our Adaptive Movement program to our 18+ dancers this season, and we couldn’t be happier to have Jana joining our Movement family to lead them 🧡

If you’ve walked through the doors at TMC, chances are you already know these two! 🧡

Meet Nicole & Aubrey, our Front Desk Coordinators and two of the friendly faces you’ll find up front throughout the week! Whether you have a question, need help with something, or just need someone to point you in the right direction, they’re always happy to help.

Nicole is heading into her 6th year on staff and also handles TMC’s Social Media & Marketing, while Aubrey is returning for her 5th year! And when they’re not behind the desk, they’re right there with the rest of you in full dance mom mode. 😂 Both are Company moms with dancers of their own, so it’s safe to say they spend a lot of time at TMC!

They love getting to know our dancers and families and are so excited to welcome everyone back for Season 17! 🧡

With so many new dancers, families, and faces joining us for Season 17, we thought this was the perfect time to introduce (and reintroduce) you to the people who make our studio feel like home. 🧡

First up: our 8 incredible returning teachers!

These are the faces behind the names you’ll see on your dancer’s schedule each week, so whether you’re brand new to TMC or have been with us for years, take a minute to get to know them! 🫶

And a fun little TMC fact: 6 of our 8 returning teachers are also dance moms with children who dance right here at The Movement! We think that makes our studio family just a little extra special. 🧡

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing even more of our TMC crew: our new teachers, our amazing front desk team, and eventually some of the talented guest choreographers joining us this season!
