I have been on the phone and emails with state biologists, Corp of engineers and a few game wardens about planting north of winganon bridge.

Most likely the state will provide the seed!! Now to get it planted.

I have a few buddy’s that fly local but I have more friends that would run AirPower to help this cause but fuel isn’t cheap. In the boat or the sky it has to be paid for!

We all know that if the lake gets planted this year it will be a huge holding and feeding lake like always and just make the hunting on and around the lake that much better like the old days! With the border being on lock this season the dakotas are guna get pressured like never before, that only means one thing! They will be on the move. No more staging and sitting all season (in my opinion).

So that being said this is a feeler post for a small and simple donation ($5-10 each) to pay for my guys fuel and maintenance. If we get enough funds the state will provide enough seed to plant every inch of mudflat north of the bridge! Let’s see how this gets shared and interest sparks before I set up an account. Please share, tag and post on pages to get the word out!

UPDATE

The project is a GO! The Corp and OWDC is on board with this project. The Corp has no activities or plans to drain the lake this fall or winter. Oologah has a constant flow from the Verdigris River that being said it will hold normal elevation (638) or higher.

ODWC is kindly donating $2000 for seed for this event. Corp is pushing the permits ASAP to get planted within the next 7-10 days.

Japanese Millet is what we are planting it has germinate time of 45-60 days and will grow with water on it. This is a huge deal for not only Oologah lake but for NE Oklahoma, private clubs and Waterfowlers around!

I am posting the donation PayPal link in the comments and on this post for more seed and fuel for our airboats. There will be a need for volunteers when the date is set I’ll make another post when that information is set in stone.
