Oh, we’re so back.

After the D2 boys narrowly missed the playoffs last year, we’re coming into this season hungry to get back where we belong and make a run at the title.

Practice starts in less than a week, and our first game is still six weeks away. That means plenty of time to get back in game shape, build chemistry, and potentially get a friendly match in before the season officially kicks off.

With two teams again this year, we’re all hands on deck. Whether you’re a former athlete looking to try rugby, a returning player, or someone who has taken a hiatus from the game, there’s a place for you here.

We’re one of only two D2 programs in the area offering a second side, which means more playing time, more opportunities to develop, and more chances to compete.

With a dedicated coaching staff, a competitive environment, and a team that knows how to have a good time off the field, we believe there’s a place for everyone in our program.

Whether you’re here to compete for a championship or just looking for a new sport, new friends, and a team to be part of, come give rugby a shot.

We’re ready for the season. Are you?

Interested in rugby?

We promise it's not as intimidating as it looks, and you'll gain a second family along the way.

Whether you've never touched a rugby ball or you're just looking for a new challenge, our beginner-friendly program is designed to teach you everything you need to know in a fun, supportive environment.

It's never too late to start, and you're never too old to play.

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing."

Ready to give it a try? Send us a DM or text the number on the flyer to get started.

🏉 Our first practice is Thursday, August 14th.

We can't wait to meet you!

Our favorite day of the year is tomorrow!

Hoping the weather cooperates so our boys can go have a day.

See you all down at the shore 🤙

Media:

Reserved for players who competed on our competitive team this season first. We'll still be here to have fun, but expect a solid level of play. If you can throw with both hands, make open-field tackles, and know the game, this is your squad.

The Pilgrims:

Open to everyone. Friends, hockey subs, first-timers, and anyone looking for a good time. All skill levels are welcome. Come have fun, embrace the chaos, and expect the unexpected.

It's that beautiful weekend otherwise called

Rain or shine, catch us down at the shore with 2 teams competing in the social bracket. Both teams don't start until the afternoon. Stay tuned until Friday for our game times.

Let's go have a DAY 🤙

Collegiate Athlete of the Week: .montesinos

Meet Brandon, aka Duff, entering his sophomore year at

He fell in love with rugby within his first few weeks of college. After giving up wrestling to attend a school that didn't have the sport but offered a strong academic program for his major, rugby gave him something physical to look forward to and push himself toward. Being out on the pitch making big tackles and running through contact with his teammates by his side has been everything. The sport is fun on its own, but the people he's met and grown close with in such a short time make it that much better.

What keeps him locked in at Widener? The developmental mindset. As a program that competed at the Division 3 level before moving up to Division 2 the same year he joined, everyone shares a positive outlook on growth, pushing each other to level up individually and as a program. That environment makes him feel at home and valued in the bigger picture of Widener Rugby.

When we asked him why he chose Media RFC, he said:

"I chose to play with Media Rugby after hearing about them from coaches and teammates who had played here before. After coming out to a few practices, I found a great community of guys who love the game and genuinely want to help younger players develop. I feel at home with everyone here and feel myself getting better after every training session, even if it's just 1%."

Duff is brand new to the game and this is his first summer with us, but you'd never know it. His personality is contagious, his growth has been obvious, and we couldn't be happier to have him in the fold. We're looking forward to having him back next summer and, eventually, welcoming him to the squad full-time when he graduates in 2029.

Sadly our boys didn't get the results we wanted in a tournament we needed to perform well.

We finished 2nd overall in the Keystone Cup for the summer.

Our boys will come back stronger & faster next year to hopefully be champions again.

Proud of everyone who has put in a lot of hard work these past 2 months. Looking forward to seeing you all next summer & hopefully a few of you before then.

We still have two fun tournaments coming up:

Surfsides | July 18 | Stone Harbor. NJ

Can-Ams | July 24-26 | Saranac. NY
