Finishing off the work week with Leg Day, PHUL Lower Hypertrophy. Combining lunges with squats to really hit the lower half.

Ever think about why "diets" often fail? One of the major reasons for falling off of diets is that many are overly restrictive and label foods as "good" and "bad". This can lead to someone to say 🤬 it and give up, going back to poor eating habits.
The thing is, how beneficial or detrimental foods are to you often comes down to a continuum, not absolutes (obvious exceptions are foods that are truly poisonous, or what one is allergic to or has an intolerance for). By thinking in terms of "more beneficial" and "less beneficial", you could have a more relaxed attitude about eating and still sustain your progress. For example, Is it pizza night with the family? That could possibly be considered "less beneficial" so you could then think "well, maybe I should add more to my 'more beneficial' basket" and have a lean protein and vegetables earlier in the day. Been consistently good all week? Awesome, your 'more beneficial' basket is pretty full, so having a "treat meal" won't completely derail your progress, as long as you get back to what has been working well.

Complexes are a great alternative for "cardio" for people who hate cardio.
A complex is an exercise where a single load and single space is used in series for multiple exercises without releasing the load. This particular complex is called "Cosgrove's Evil 8": 8 fundamental barbell exercises done in series, for 6 sets with descending reps from 6 to one:
Deadlift
Romanian Deadlift
Bent over row
Power Clean
Front squats
Push Press
Back Squat
Good Mornings

Attempted to hike Wildcat Mountain D summit. Due to heavy fresh snow looking like near avalanche conditions, we were not able to make it to the summit this time.

.i.t.challenge Turkey Trot done this morning. Still feeling the effects of the FIT Challenge Ultra last weekend. Rolled my ankle about a mile and a half in.
