Warriors opened up the Hustle league showcase today and rose to the occasion! It was a lot of fun!

Kentucky Warriors-The Tri-State area's oldest & most experienced year-round basketball club. Training & teams with experienced & committed year-round coaches.

All ages & skill levels, boys & girls. The Kentucky Warriors Youth Basketball Organization offers year round basketball skills training, specialized training, team practices and team leagues. For both boys and girls, beginners to elite players, ages 3 to 19. We offer both AAU teams and REC teams, our AAU teams are for advanced and elite players and our REC teams are for intermediate and advanced players, both leagues are available to play in year-round. We offer year-round weekly league games, team practices and basketball skills training. The Kentucky Warriors also offer specialized jump/agility/speed training that will improve your athleticism. Our basketball organization is for players that want to make the commitment to do the necessary work to improve their individual and team basketball skills. With the goal being to constantly learn and improve to make it to the next level in their playing career. Then, through dedicated training and practice in players school and youth basketball careers, have the goal of earning an athletic or academic college scholarship. We stress that student-athletes put academics first and athletics second during their school careers. Athletics can end in a moment, academics are for life. We want to teach more than just basketball, we want our athletes to learn how to succeed in the game of life as well. Our goal is to produce outstanding student-athletes that go on to college with an athletic or academic scholarship, graduate college and become a success in life! To offer an amateur sports program for all people to have the physical, mental, and moral development of amateur athletes and to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship.

General information

Ben Coffman - Ben is the Founder, Director and one of the coaches for the Kentucky Warriors Youth Basketball Organization. He has been a life-long youth sports coach and comes from a basketball family. His father, Bennie Coffman, was a star player for Adolph Rupp at the University of Kentucky. Bennie was drafted by the Syracuse Nationals (now the Philadelphia 76ers) out of UK but chose to go into coaching instead. His father then went on to a highly successful high school and college coaching career. Ben was trained in basketball by his father and also through his own successful playing and coaching experience. Ben was an elite player in high school and earned a D-I basketball scholarship. In college he also played at the leading DII college basketball program in the nation, Kentucky Wesleyan. While there he was part of the #1 team in the nation in 1984 and went to two NCAA D-II Final Fours in 1984 and 1985. He also set the current record at KY Wesleyan for consecutive field goals made, with 11 in a row. In addition to Ben Coffman, the Kentucky Warriors have some of the best basketball and training minds in the area on their staff. Ken Shields - The Tri-Stateโ€™s iconic and Hall of Fame college and high school coach is an Ambassador & Mentor to the staff and players of the Kentucky Warriorโ€™s AAU Basketball Organization. Coach Shields is the winningest boysโ€™ basketball coach in Northern Kentucky high school history. He speaks to our players and gives the staff guidance on everything we do. His basketball experience, wisdom and knowledge are leading traits in the Tri-State area. Coach Shields is a very valuable asset to the Kentucky Warriors. Scott Draud - Named Northern Kentuckyโ€™s High School Basketball Player of the Century, long-time youth coach and former successful high school basketball coach. Scott had a tremendous college career. He was a Vanderbilt University Basketball All-American and was named a Top 100 Athlete of all time at Vanderbilt. His son Scotty is a leading player in the area currently playing for the Kentucky Warriors. Ed Connor - A leading sports psychologist and a former college and International Olympic basketball coach. He is also the son of legendary and long-time coach Jim Connor of Thomas More College. His brother, Terry, is the current A.D. of Thomas More College. His son Nathan plays for the Kentucky Warriors. Dave Moeves โ€“ Former elite high school player and college Hall of Fame player at Berea College. His 3 sons play for the Kentucky Warriors. Dave is a long-time leading AAU basketball coach and offensive genius in the Tri-State area. Jim Pelton - Former All-State high school player in CA. Received a basketball scholarship to play for Larry Brown at Kansas. Was part of two NCAA tournament teams while at Kansas. Finished his collegiate career at the University of San Diego, where they won the WCAC and participated again in the NCAA tournament. Played for the United States in the 1987 World Cup where he was named the team captain. Jim also played professionally in Australia. He is a long time youth basketball coach. Jimโ€™s son Jacob plays for the KY Warriors. John Hawkins - Former All-State and MVP high school player in MS. Played DI college basketball for the Ole Miss Rebels. He also serves as the Board Chairman of the YMCA RC Durr branch in Burlington. John also serves on the Greater Cincinnati YMCA Board of Governors. John is a long-time youth basketball coach and his sons, Matthew and Phillip, play for the KY Warriors. Jeanette Luke - Former high school basketball player and part of State qualifying team in KY. Played at Western Kentucky University. After college Jeanette played on the All-Navy basketball team while in the military. She is a long-time youth sports coach and also an elementary and high school coach. Jeanetteโ€™s daughter Sierra also plays for the KY Warriors. All Star Performance Training โ€“ All Star Performance Training features FlexBands exercise equipment to help athletes build speed, power, and explosion. FlexBands are continuous loop bands used by professional and most major colleges and universities across the country. When you train at All Star Performance Training, you not only will improve your conditioning to a higher level, but you also improve your sport-specific speed and force, widely referred to as explosiveness. Athletes who demonstrate the greatest amount of explosive power should dominate their opponents. Run faster, jump higher, and become a better athlete in any sportโ€”at any level! All Starโ€™s training facility is located at 1440 US 42 in Florence and is operated by Dr. Bob Coppola. KY Warriors players receive a discounted training rate. Our coaches and trainers give the Kentucky Warriors Youth Basketball Organization a leading group of basketball and training instructors in the Tri-State area. By joining the Kentucky Warriors your son or daughter will have year-round access to some of the best basketball coaching and training in the area. We are dedicated to making your player the best they can be by the time they graduate high school, with the goal of earning a college scholarship.
