North Middle School Athletics

It's hard to believe that so many of our fall sports seasons are coming to an end soon. If you haven't been to any of our CADET games, you are certainly missing out! The heat has definitely put a damper on a lot of our events, but hopefully, that is over!

Last week saw our boys' JV and V soccer teams earn wins over Mt. Vernon; softball had 8th grade night; volleyball fought hard against a good Daviess Co squad; our football teams earned two more wins over South Hopkins; and our cross country teams earned 3rd and 4th place today! Hopefully our golf team will have the opportunity to complete their matches this week.

Cross Country results-Elementary runner Sydney Rucks competed in the middle school race and earned a 9th place medal; Vayda Powers earned herself a medal with a 17th place finish! Hunter Sheffer, Sadie Rucks, and Willa Barron came in 28th, 31st, and 38th, respectively. The girls team earned 4th place! In boys' racing, Rawlin Williams had a strong race, capturing an 8th place finish. Grey Ranes and Liam Barron secured 15th and 16th place, with Judah Butler earning 21st place. Our boys' team captured 3rd place!

We have several home events this week! Including, hosting first round conference playoff games for both 7th and 8th grade football and 8th grade night for soccer, cross country, and golf.

Golf 4pm @ Bridges
Softball A vs Madisonville 5:30pm
Football Plex vs South!! City Championship-our boys look to bring the trophy back to NMS!

Tuesday, Sept 22-Soccer vs South @ the Plex! It's 8th grade night for boys/girls soccer, cross country, and golf. Boys will play at 5:30 and 8th grade night festivities will be before the girls' game.

Wednesday, Sept 23-Boys soccer H 6p (1 game only)

Thursday, Sept 24-Volleyball vs Castle A 5:30 7/8 only
Golf @ the Bridges 4pm
Softball vs Daviess Co A 5:30pm
7th grade Football Conference Playoffs-6pm (1 game)

Friday, Sept 25-Boys soccer vs Dav Co A 5:30pm

Saturday, Sept 26-Volleyball City Championship
8th grade Football Conference Playoffs-11am (1 game)
Girls basketball opens their season in Lexington at the STATE tournament!!!!

Sunday-Girls basketball at state
Archery Open House 3-6pm

Athletic Director recognition week, who knew that was a thing!? The dance team surprised me with a bag of goodies this morning, my colleagues got me a gift card so I can buy all the frozen Mtn Dew I want, and they created the most precious video of staff and students telling me why I am special and why they love me 😪 tears for sure! I am blessed with great families who allow me to share in their child's successes. What I do is never about recognition, it's not about me, it's about my CADETS! Thank you to everyone for your kind words❤️

Caiden Berry was on 🔥 with a hat trick! And Waylin Carner added another dagger! Assists by Mack, Joel, Manny, and Waylin. Way to go, boys!!!!!!

Started at the soccer field, went and watched a little softball, then ended my night at the volleyball game. I apologize softball parents I do not have a roster to know who is who 😞 so I'm unsure if I got all of the NMS girls.
