Our first trip to the Tennessee VEX Robotics state championship is over, and hopefully not our last appearance! scorpion.robotics battled the best teams in the state during this competition to solidify themselves at a ranking of 29th of the top 60+ teams from Tennessee. Their journey got cut short when they didn’t make the selection for the final tournament, but I couldn’t be more proud of their hard work! Tennessee Valley Robotics put on a great tournament and we are already looking forward to next season.

We also want to give a big THANK YOU to our sponsors who helped us get this far this season. As our second official year comes to a close, we would not have been able to get our five individual teams the VEX parts they needed nor the admission to all of our competitions without our fabulous sponsors! And another big THANK YOU to the parents who supported their students by taking them to and from practices and competitions, as well as sitting through many competitions!

Yesterday was our last tournament of the season. We took part in the Robertson County VEX Robotics V5RC Tournament and all of our teams faired well and made it out of the qualifiers and into the tournament! Team 99299W, Astro, made it to quarter finals and team 99299X, Scorpion, took second place overall! We are proud of all of our teams who were able to come out and compete and did an outstanding representing Beech High School!

Finally we got outstanding news to share! We traveled to Tennessee Tech University to take part in their first hosted event called Battle at the Nest. Team scorpion.robotics (99299X) and their alliance from Codemandos made it all the way to the finals and were crowned tournament champions! Additionally, team Scorpion also received the Innovate Award, which recognizes an effective and well documented design process for their team's design. And team V.O.V. (99299V) received the Build Award, which recognizes a well-constructed robot that is constructed with a high degree of attention to detail in order to hold up to the rigors of competition.

We are certainly proud of these teams as well as our others who came out and fought so hard today!

Another fun robotics trip last week! Team scorpion.robotics (99299X) wanted to try their luck at the Bots at Bristol Signature Event. The team competed in a pool of over 100 teams and ended up ranked 32, but we didn’t progress into the final tournament as we had hoped. This was a great experience for us all and we had a great trip and made some great memories. Let’s hope we can come back again next year!
