Haven't finished reading this series but the issue is one that is critical. To what extent is a person's freedom to practice their faith a viable argument for discrimination against an entire class of people? I find it interesting that Biblical beliefs were used to justify slavery, but we overcame that. Many of the same arguments were made then are being made against the LGBT community today. I have come to believe that the Catholic Church and many right wing Christian churches discriminate against women in the church and that discrimination bleeds into society as a whole. We see the residual effects of slavery's discrimination on our streets and in the news daily. When will we learn? Discrimination is a form of hate... The absolute opposite of Christ's "love your neighbor" instruction.
