Here is a video explaining Sharp V/S Scary Sharp.
Sharp Knives have a sharp Edge.
Scary Sharp Knives are profiled like razor blades, where the tip of the blade goes all the way to the spine; Creating a Narrow Wedge shaped bevel.
Sharp Knives with a wider "Bevel" can also be sharp, and cut paper like butter; but they will tend to hang up on thick, dense items like hard belt leather.

I made a Live Center for my Metal Lathe... With my Metal Lathe today...

Here is one of the best camp knives I have made.
440c Stainless blade, means no rust, but with sub zero quench it is still as hard as high carbon steel.
Canvas Micarta handle, great grip that will never fracture.
Kydex sheath wrapped in leather and lined with felt; means the knife will not get scratched in the sheath and it will not cut through the kydex, but the leather sheath allows it to hang from the belt, or attach to a pack, or the straps can be reversed to attach it parallel to the belt, in the small of the back.
Overall the perfect camp knife for chopping kindling, cleaning a trout, or going toe to toe with a bear.

This one is already sold.

I have an old wood lathe and an even older "New" metal lathe.
I used the metal lathe to make a bowl gouge for the wood lathe, and then tested it making this bowl. It is a twice turned bowl, so I have to dry it before I can finish turning it....
Wow, much better than any of my cheap gouges, a lot more fun to turn a bowl when I am not worried about the gouge breaking off at the tang.
I will post gouge pictures later....

My Co-worker retired last week and I realized he needed a knife for retirement...
So I made this guy in 3 days.
Unfortunately, I stayed up late making the sheath, so I do not have very good pictures.
