Charles River Loop. 8 miles, mostly flat, and honestly the best way to spend a Saturday morning in Boston.
Here's the route:
→ Start at Museum of Science (Cambridge side)
→ Follow the river path west toward Brighton
→ Cross at any bridge to loop back
→ 8-12 miles depending on how much time you've got
Things you'll pass:
- MIT sailing pavilion and the boats that live there
- The esplanade with Back Bay on the other side
- About 200 ducks (not exaggerating)
- A skyline view that makes you stop pedaling for a second
Couple things worth knowing:
- Go before 9 AM on weekends — after that it may get crowded with runners
- There are water fountains every mile or so
- A Fifield e-bike makes the whole loop feel like a Sunday stroll, even after a long week
