✨ Meet Angelo Lopez, a real-life angel among us. ✨

Angelo joined Legacy’s Voice Track Leadership Program as a senior at Westbrook Academy in Los Angeles. Inspired by his community, he co-founded The Watts Project to support homeless individuals and their pets. 🏠🐾

Last week, Angelo organized a holiday toy drive in Skid Row, bringing joy to children and their furry friends. Watching him in action reminded us why we do what we do—because leaders like Angelo are transforming the world.

This holiday season, help us build more leaders like Angelo through our Holidays of Hope Campaign. Together, we can empower the next generation of changemakers to create brighter futures for those who need it most.

Charlie will inspire you to connect with the beauty in your surroundings, rediscover the power of your spirit, and help you keep moving forward in conquering your greatest challenges.

Young people are in the midst of an anxiety epidemic. They are ready to be the change we all want to see in the world, but they need our help to give them the tools and resources required to turn anxiety into action!

Mental Health is top-of-mind, pun intended, here at Legacy. Our student leadership experiences act as programmatic interventions for anxiety and depression. This year we launched our successful Mental Health campaign in partnership with our friends at BetterHelp and The Steve Fund. This campaign, supported by the huge hearts of Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans, The New York Jets Solomon Thomas, and the dynamic musician Alonzo, got FREE mental health resources into the hands of 2,800+ low-income students including a year of free therapy for some. It encouraged young people to speak their minds, share their mental health journey, and reduce the stigma that mental health issues have on young people of color!

All I want for Christmas is YOUUUUU-th leadership training and mentorship for underserved students.

This year Legacy served over 2,400 students from predominantly low income communities! Legacy took young leaders to the stages of Google HQ as keynote speakers! We gave 2,800 young people mental health resources, and supported youth in saving over 2,100 acres of rainforest, providing 500 young women in the global south free menstrual products and so much more!

I can't wait to see what 2024 brings. The best is yet to come!

When students- like the ones you will be supporting- go through our student leadership programs, they then have the opportunity each summer, to attend our annual student leadership conference, Legacy Summit! This epic 2-day program is one part Summer Camp, one part Music Festival, and one part U.N. General Assembly. Legacy gathers together 300 of our student leaders to further invest in them, equip them with the skills they need, and connect them to each other so that they can go out and build a better world!

Legacy’s Programs develop, mentor, and equip young people with the skills & experience they need to reach their academic goals, make a REAL impact on the world around them, and, most importantly, give them the community and environment they need to THRIVE!

Legacy provides FREE leadership training and professional mentorship, giving life-changing skills for predominantly low-income youth SO students KNOW how to use their TIME, MONEY, VOTE, AND VOICE to lead their communities which gives them a CONFIDENCE that isn’t taught in many classrooms.

We have taken our VOICE students from the classroom to the world stage.

Summer and Jacob participated in our Speaker Incubator program, culminating in an “AGT meets TED-X” style speaking contest at Legacy Summit. In October, Summer and Jacob opened the Google Champions Symposium conference at Google HQ! As the first two KEYNOTE speakers both received standing ovations. Two high-school students, on a world stage who inspired educators with their voices.

These are life-changing opportunities you can provide young students. Jacob’s mother, following the conference wrote, ”Your feedback and the educators embracing his message was beyond what we could have imagined. It truly has given him direction in finding his "purpose," a question he has been pondering since he was in second grade. This weekend was truly a life-altering experience for him.”
