On Wednesday we will be hosting our Alumni vs player game. It will run 6-8PM and we will do our senior recognition at the conclusion of the game. We will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for anyone that comes. It should be a beautiful day for a game so bring the whole family!
These boys have put in a lot of work to represent Homer. This is the only home game the boys will have all year. We hope to see a lot of alumni and people at the park! Spread the word.

Homer Mariners snatched the lead late in their 11-10 victory over Kenai Central on Thursday. The game was tied at 10 in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run.
Homer Mariners came back to win despite trailing 9-2 in the fourth.
Kenai Central opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three walks. Kenai Central first got on the board when Dominic Smith drew a walk, scoring one run.
Kenai Central added three runs in the second after Dominic Smith doubled down the right field line.
Kenai Central added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Dominic Smith singled to center field, and Riel Castillo was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Homer Mariners tied the game up in the top of the sixth thanks to two singles. Homer Mariners tied the game at nine on a single by Clyde Clemens.
A fly out by Ruben Yager gave Homer Mariners the lead, 10-9, in the top of the seventh.
Jacob Joanis doubled down the left field line, which helped Kenai Central tie the game at 10 in the bottom of the seventh.
Andrew Marley pitched five innings in relief for Homer Mariners. The reliever gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) while, striking out five and walking one. Steven Burns led things off on the bump for Homer Mariners. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and eight runs (seven earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking seven. Jacob Joanis stepped on the bump first for Kenai Central. The starter gave up one hit and three runs (one earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 11 and walking eight.
Clyde Clemens led Homer Mariners with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Andrew Marley, Clyde Clemens, Steven Burns, Cohen Boyd, Evan Pietsch, and Ethan Pietsch each collected one hit for Homer Mariners. Benjamin Engebretsen paced Homer Mariners with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. Ethan Pietsch stole two bases.

Clyde Clemens was dominant on the bump, as the starting pitcher rang up 13 strikeouts in Homer Mariners's 9-1 victory over Houston on Thursday. Clyde Clemens surrendered one hit and one run over seven innings while walking two.
An error put Houston on the board in the top of the first.
In the bottom of the first inning, Homer Mariners went back into the lead after Jayden Sims walked, Ruben Yager grounded out, and Evan Pietsch flew out, each scoring one run.
Homer Mariners added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Ruben Yager grounded into a double play, and Evan Pietsch walked, each scoring one run.
CJ Burns led Homer Mariners with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Ruben Yager, Jayden Sims, Clyde Clemens, Evan Pietsch, and Ethan Pietsch each drove in one run for Homer Varsity Mariners. Homer Varsity Mariners had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 14 walks for the game. Clyde Clemens and Evan Pietsch led the team with three walks each.
Your Homer Mariners will now play Kenai at 6PM Friday with a chance to clinch a spot at the state tournament.
