So we ended up riding 33km today. All the way from Wakiki to Moanalua Gardens for the Hula Festival and back to Wakiki, then on to the Pop and Paws Night Market Downtown. Great bikes thank you.

Calling all Street Art lovers! The Kaka'ako neighborhood of Honolulu is undergoing a major renovation from an active warehouse district to a residential neighborhood along the lines of Venice California or Williamsburg in Brooklyn. As part of this effort, works of street art have been commissioned all over the neighborhood and of course the best way to see them is by bicycle. Kaka'ako is a 15 minute ride from Waikiki and covers the area from Ward Ave in the east to Punchbowl Street on the west. Kapiolani Blvd is the approximate border to the north. So grab a bike from Waikiki Bike Rentals and go check it out!

Waiola Shave Ice 03/30/2014

Take a bike ride over to Waiola Shave Ice's newest location, right near Waikiki. This cute shave ice and candy shop is tucked away behind busy Kapahulu Avenue, which runs from the eastern edge of Waikiki north up to the H1 freeway. This hidden gem has all the fixins to give your shave ice that special twist including azuki beans, condensed milk and vanilla ice cream. My personal favorite is a root beer shave ice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom. You start out with a shave ice and end up with a root beer float! Delicious! You can find Waiola Shave Ice at 3113 Mokihana Street, just behind Maui Sporting Goods. Grab a bike from Waikiki Bike Rentals and get over there!!

The Carchive: The ’82 GMC Value Van | Hooniverse

In honor of the van getting a new makeover, we found this fun little article online. Our delivery van is a Chevy, not a GMC but it's pretty much the same thing. Keep an eye out for us around Waikiki, delivering bikes to your door!

Guerrilla Knitting - Honolulu! 03/07/2014

Guerrilla knitting has arrived in Honolulu! Head to the downtown/Chinatown area to check out some great examples of guerrilla knitting, including these examples on our City's famous bike locking stations. The red and blue bike is located at the corner of Bethel Street and South Pauahi Street. The multicolored example is a block away at South Pauahi Street and Nuuanu Avenue. Grab a bike from Waikiki Bike Rentals and head over and check them out! Then spend the rest of the day exploring Chinatown and the nearby fishing port!

Hike Koko Head! 03/06/2014

Ready for a serious climb? The Koko Head crater is located approximately ten miles east of Waikiki in the neighborhood of Hawaii Kai. There is only one road heading east to Hawaii Kai but it has a large shoulder that is perfect for riding a bike. If you are ready for serious day of exercise, the Koko Head Trial will take you straight up the side of the crater, with over 1000 large steps to climb. Please note that these are not traditional stairs but rather old railroad ties and rail, making the steps much larger than normal stairs. Many of the ties are old and broken, making the climb a real challenge. Check out the photos for an example. There is also a bridge part way up that consists of railway ties suspended over a small gorge. There is an unmarked bypass trail for the bridge on the right side heading up. Please be aware that this is a very challenging climb and is only to be undertaken by serious, well equipped hikers. Shoes or boots are a must! You can read more about the hike and read reviews from previous climbers here:

Remember that the bike ride to Koko Head is 20 miles round trip so taking the bus to Koko Head is an easier option.
