NYS Hawaii is part of a national youth sports league and currently participates in the national 11-man tackle football program with Spring and Fall seasons
Our goal at NYS Hawaii is to offer amateur tackle football programs through a volunteer base for all people to have the physical, mental, and moral development of amateur athletics, to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship, and to serve the youth, the family and the community through participation in youth sports. The mission of all of our programs is to strengthen the individual, the fa
mily, and the community through participation in youth sports. Our program is centered around sportsmanship and emphasizes fun and the importance of fair play. National Youth Sports (NYS) started as a small Arizona company over 20 years ago. Its mission, “To serve the youth, the family and the community through participation in youth sports.” Founder, Steve Pipoly, organized NYS’s first recreational youth sports league in Peoria, Arizona which consisted of just over 300 T-ball and Basketball participants in January of 1993. NYS was known back then as Arizona Youth Sports. The league grew quickly and within five years was serving over 5000 kids per season and had expanded to both the Phoenix and Tucson Metropolitan areas. In 1998, it began its first expansion league outside the state of Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada and shortly thereafter changed its name to National Youth Sports. NYS continued to expand over the years and is now operating leagues in seven states, and is continuing to grow. NYS currently serves approximately 45,000 youth each year. In Hawaii, we opened the Oahu branch and provide 11-man weighted tackle football. Hundreds of tackle teams look forward to the annual NYS National Tackle Championship tournament, held every summer in San Diego, California.
