I had my first house call today to fix a printer that a kind woman and her son were having some trouble with. I showed her how to solve the problems and gave her some slicing tips for her model she wanted to print. It felt great to get her and her son back to printing successfully.

I cleaned off the old drafting table and started working on a logo. This is the first draft so please be nice.

Cad designer friends I have a question.

I use Fusion for all my design work and it has not let me down. The problem now is that I need to reproduce a crinkle finish on some faces of my parts. I do not know how to do that.

Does anyone have a software that they like that I can use to put textures on my models?

My gut tells me Blender but I figured I'd ask here before youtubeing it.

Hurricane Beryl really did a number in the Houston area. We are located on the north side of Houston and we are going on our 6th day of no power.

No computer and no power means no 3d printing or design.

It will be ok though because our home is okay and we have great friends that are hosting us for now.

Thanks to all the linemen working to fix this mess.

I was able to pick up another 3d printer for the fleet today. My wife found it on an Amazon returns auction site. After getting it home I did have to fix a few things but I'm happy to say it's up and running great.
Of course I had my own personal supervisor making sure I did it right.

This was a project that I was very excited to take on. These are covers for a Torpedo Model 6 typewriter. The original covers are made of bakelite and get fragile after 80 some odd years.
I printed a test model at home in orange and once I was able to test fit it I went ahead had these printed by in pa12 then dyed and v***r smoothed.
I am so happy with how these turned out. Thanks for the opportunity to use 3d printing to help replace your rare typewriter parts.
