UPDATE: Eagles place Jalen Hurts on injured reserve. 🏈

October 17: Philadelphia has now confirmed the move because of the superficial blood clot in his calf. This updates our earlier post, which reflected reports that the team wasn't planning to use IR while gathering more medical information.

Tanner McKee is set to start against Carolina on Sunday. The Eagles also signed running back Jaydon Blue to the active roster.

SWB take: The roster decision is clear now. His recovery should set the timetable, not the standings.

FINAL, October 17: Florida rallied from a 17–3 deficit to beat No. 7 Texas 27–24 in Austin. The Gators sacked Arch Manning five times and recovered his late fumble to help seal it.

SWB take: A two-touchdown lead at home is supposed to settle the nerves. Florida had other plans.

Saturday, October 17: The Texans activated linebacker Henry To'oTo'o and safety Ja'Marcus Ingram from injured reserve. Houston faces Jacksonville at Wembley on Sunday, October 18, at 8:30 a.m. Central on NFL Network.

SWB take: Reinforcements are welcome. So is a reminder to set the alarm before treating Sunday like a noon kickoff.

Eagles keep Hurts off IR for now. His return is still uncertain. 🏈

Saturday, October 17: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter report Philadelphia isn't planning to place Jalen Hurts on injured reserve while gathering more medical information about the superficial blood clot in his calf. IR remains a possibility.

Hurts is already ruled out against Carolina on Sunday, October 18. No return date has been established.

SWB take: Give the medical team room to get this right. The schedule can wait on his health.

Friday, October 16: Colorado rallied from 2–0 down to beat Pittsburgh 5–2. Nathan MacKinnon had a goal and three assists; T.J. Hughes scored his first NHL goal.

Sidney Crosby's 1,110th career assist moved him past Joe Thornton into seventh all-time.

Caleb’s back at practice. Sunday is still a question mark. 🏈

The Bears listed Caleb Williams as questionable Friday, October 16, for Sunday’s game in Atlanta. He practiced fully Friday after missing Chicago’s last three games with a right hamstring injury.

Williams said Thursday he needed to pass a field stress test before being named the starter. Ben Johnson hasn’t named a backup starter if Williams can’t go.

SWB take: Bears fans can be encouraged without treating a practice report like a starting-lineup announcement. Let the hamstring pass the test first.
