Worst I’ve seen in 34 years!

I’ve never seen a capacitor blow up and cause all the wires to melt together like this before… and I’ve seen hundreds of blown caps over the years! I even had to fix the wires inside the unit to the compressor, crank case heater, both High and Low Pressure switches… even had to replace 24V t-stat wire that was all melted together about 18”-24” away from the unit!! 😳

You know that August has arrived when it’s 10 o’clock on a Friday night and you’re still out running calls with 2 more to go… And the last 2 are willing to wait as long (or as late) as it takes for us to get out there!!!

Here’s a few pics from the install we did yesterday… We have a few “Before” pictures mixed in with the “After” so you can see the difference.

In addition to it just being a SUPER clean install, we have pics of the new “Return Air Plenum” that we added (last system just had holes cut into furnace 🤦‍♂️), a new “In-Line Filter Cabinet” for 20x25x4” R/A filters, a new safety drain pan with a new “Aqua Guard Safety Float Switch”, a new “PVC Ball Valve” with a riser for pouring bleach and cleaning drain-line out (this is to isolate the coil allowing for an easier and more efficient way to clean the primary drain line).

We’ve also added in a new “Reme Halo” air purifier for her in her supply air (the same one I have in MY house and love) and we put in all new “Start Collars-With Dampers” in every S/A duct (for balancing airflow and giving her total air control) attached to the new R8-Insulated “Supply Air Plenum” that we installed on the system to top it all off!! 👍😁

On the outside, we installed a new “3.5 Ton 454B RUUD Condensing Unit” after thoroughly flushing out the copper line set with RX-Line Flush. This is to remove any R22 contaminants left in there from the previous system. We put in a new 16 in.³ Liquid Line Dryer, pulled the system into a deep vacuum for over an hour and opened up the “King-Valves” introducing the new 454B Freon into system. We then dialed the charge in to the manufacturers spec’s and her new system is back up and running, back blowing and cooling better than ever!!
😃👍 ❄️ 🔥😊
