A journal on my desk caught my eye.

I picked it up and started to read.

First line reads: "You are not a product of your environment."

I leaned back in my chair and thought to myself, "Oh this is about to be REAL GOOD" as I kept reading.

After several pages (and many months of reflection and downloads), I read the last line of my journal entry:

"Your ministry is not your business. But your business could be your ministry."

When I read that note, it hit me deep.

I, like so many other high-achieving Kingdom women, spent years compartmentalizing my business endeavors and my ministry calling, trying to fit into the expectations of the corporate and religious environments from which I came.

Religious Expectations --> this is your God-given calling so don't charge for your service.

Corporate Expectations --> be politically correct and don't talk about Jesus lest you offend your coworker.

But I knew God had not only called me to the business excellence I experienced while serving my gifts under another man's vision...

He had also called to operate in and execute from the depth of spiritual power I had experienced in religious circles.

So, for years I wondered: what if these environments and their ideologies have been limiting God’s ability to work through me in every area of my life, not just ministry?

What if what I've been taught about business and ministry goes against God's mandate for my life?

What if my business IS my ministry?

Armed with new insight and revelation, I decided NOT ANOTHER YEAR WASTED!

Because the truth is as a Believer functioning in the marketplace, your business is more than a transaction.

And before the oil can be appreciated, it has to be poured out.

Crushed. Then poured out.

So when you pray, "God use me for Your glory"....

He crushes you.

Not to harm you.

But to bring forth the necessary oil for your next season.

You may be going through difficult times where it seems your prayers are being ignored.

They're not. You're only being crushed.

It may seem like people are rejecting you and mistreating you.

They're not. You're only being crushed.

You may hit a point where the heartache is just too much to bear and you want to throw in the towel.

But don't. Because you're only being crushed.

And on the other side of your crushing is glory.

And if you will stay in God's hand and let Him crush you to break you, you will find that this great affliction has been working for you a more eternal weight of glory.

And with glory, comes increase

Your anointing increases.
Your discernment increases.
Your ability to sustain pressure increases.
Your faith increases.
And your declarations carry weight.

Because when you're crushed, God can work through you.

So don't just pray, "God use me" if you're not willing to be crushed.

It's a prerequisite for glory.

Okay, let me explain.

The oil on your life was produced in your most painful moments and has now become the balm to heal your ideal audience.

You were them. And they are now where you used to be.

As a Kingdom coach -- and the face of your brand and coaching ministry -- you will attract to your business those who identify themselves in your story, your testimony.

Your life experiences have shaped that testimony and your area of expertise as a coach, and it's from this place that you now coach your clients into breakthrough (at least it should be).

But when you fail to realize this or refuse to share your testimony as a part of your marketing strategy as a Kingdom coach, you will have missed the purpose of your coaching ministry: to teach others what God taught you. That's what we call DISCIPLESHIP.

Coaching is your ministry, and effective ministry requires your testimony.

When you share your personal testimony of how God brought you through in a particular area (which is likely now your coaching focus), it will be the example of possibility that provokes the deliverance for your ideal audience in that same area.

So rather than hide your truth, show your scars and share your testimony -- flaws and all.

As I tell the coaches in my community, show up in your dysfunction and let God do His work through your -- because true deliverance happens in a place of vulnerability and authenticity.

The sooner you realize YOU ARE YOUR IDEAL CLIENT, the more potent and effective your marketing will be.

For me, it's not just business.
It's ministry.

It's an assignment from God to radically shift the trajectory of the lives of the women I'm called to serve.

I do it willing.
With a grateful heart.

Because I remember...

I remember when I needed someone to awaken me.

I remember when I doubted the anointing on my life and therefore remained in rooms too small for me.

I remember the moments someone had to speak life back into me because the world had taken all I had to give.

I remember then seasons I hid myself away because I didn't think I had what it took.

And I remember the voices that called me out of the shadows of the enemy's camp and into God's marvelous light.

I remember the mentors and coaches who reminded me who I was and supported my rebirth.

I remember those who prayed me through because they saw in me what I couldn't see in myself.

And now, it's my turn to help these women remember who they are and stand on bigger platforms because they are already anointed for their next level.

I get to do for them what someone once did for me.

Because the truth is....

No matter the lies told on social media...

No one is "self-made".

We are all standing on the shoulders of those who went before us.

And as a leader, I may be standing out front in the natural, but spiritually I'm the foundation these women get to stand on.

And by the grace of God, my foundation is strong.
