Osaka Marathon
Incredibly grateful for giving a few of our athletes the chance to compete .official π
A good measure of an athletes progress isn't how they are when things are perfect; it's how they are when things are not...Paolo (2:19) and Jin (2:42) both came within a minute of their personal bests on a warm day. Carlos had his first healthy build since 2023 and the goal was to get to the line and through the line healthy; which he did in 2:31. VERY proud of these 3 athletes π

Houston Marathon
2:30 / 4min PR / 6th Overall / 3rd American
****
When Mimi joined SCTC in July, she felt stagnant; she was still running fast but it wasn't her best. The definition of insanity is repeating the same process expecting a different result; she already had incredible work ethic and character, just needed change her process.
People become good at what they choose to practice; we had 6 months to prepare for the demands of marathon. Months before Houston she did plenty of overdistance work to make the duration comfortable and she did plenty of work around marathon intensity to make 5:45 pace comfortable. Weeks before she just mixed the two together. You will become good at what you choose to practice.
There wasn't much to be said heading into Sunday; it was now habit and routine. She didn't need to have the race of her life, just needed to be Mimi and in that process, she had the race of her life.

Marathon Project
Eric had the race of his life running a new PR of 2:16:10, but that's such a small part of his story...
Few years ago Eric graduated from St Mary's College, a small NAIA school, running 3:53 for 1500 and 14:48 for 5,000m. When he joined SCTC, you could tell he was so much more than his times: he loved this sport and showed over time had the work ethic to make his dreams a reality.
Fast forward a few years (and many, many miles) and Eric is now knocking on the door of his 2nd Olympic Trials. We couldn't be more proud of all the time and effort he has put into this sport and can't wait to see what he does in the future!
HUGE thank you to and everyone for putting on this incredible event π
