The XACT™ Network utilizes proprietary acoustic telemetry technology to transmit high value drilling & completion data to surface.

The XACT™ Network utilizes proprietary acoustic telemetry technology to transmit high value drilling or completion data (weight, torque, bending, annular & bore pressures and temperatures) to surface from multiple, distributed measurement nodes in real-time. XACT acoustic telemetry is independent of drilling fluid and therefore provides continuous data transmission regardless of flow conditions. B

BoreSentry

Enhancing drilling safety and efficiency.

XACT offers high-speed real-time transmission of along string downhole measurements using the BoreSentry service. This provides accurate measurements of ID and OD pressure and temperature as well as weight (tension/compression), torque, and bending. The XACT BoreSentry service utilizes multiple nodes along the drillstring to allow for optimal hole cleaning, reduced risk of stuck pipe and borehole stability issues while providing enhanced influx and loss visibility.

Since the XACT Acoustic Telemetry Network does not require fluid flow the system can provide accurate and reliable real-time measurement data in underbalanced or managed pressure drilling operations. XACT has provided the BoreSentry service during many applications; ranging from the calibration and optimization of hole cleaning programs, calculating top-of-mud location during DGD operations, and providing real-time downhole pressure monitoring during under-balanced operations in addition to other drilling activities. XACT has demonstrated transmission of data through a closed BOP which confirms the availability of a multi location real-time downhole measurement data stream during well control situations where the annular preventer or bore rams are activated.

LoadSentry

Cementing assurance and real-time downhole measurements for liner running, packer retrieval, fishing and milling operations.

A significant number of well construction operations such as liner running, cementing , or fishing and milling require drill pipe to perform to convey the tools and a full open bore to drop activation balls or have no circulation. Current telemetry systems cannot operate under these constraints and so complex high risk operations are carried out without any downhole visibility and relying on surface measurements to infer downhole conditions.

XACT’s LoadSentry system overcomes these hurdles to provide measurements such as tension / compression and bore and annular pressure. LoadSentry tools are inserted into the drill string and provide continuous data from downhole, independent of fluid type or flow rate and have worked during liner cementing operations for cementing assurance and to monitor loads during liner hanger setting and running tool release. Complex milling and fishing operations can also benefit from tension measurements at the service tool to avoid damage to milling blades or to confirm fish or packer engagement. The availability of these measurements provides visibility of what is actually happening to greatly reduce risk and improve efficiency.

SandSentry

Real-time downhole measurements for sand control; completions running and packer setting.

Many deepwater operators face difficulty ensuring service tool position is maintained throughout high pressure open hole gravel pack / frac pack completion operations due to pressure and temperature driven drillstring contraction. Although modeling exists there has been no true measurement of the contraction. SandSentry from XACT enables full visibility of downhole ‘weight on tool’ during frac pack operations, allowing timely surface adjustments to ensure desired tool position is maintained at all times. In addition, SandSentry provides real-time and memory logging of OD & ID pressure and temperature as well as strain based measurements.
