The Bryan tournament this weekend has been canceled due to expected bad weather. This was not an easy decision. I was taught that you don't cancel a tournament before it actually rains at the park.
However, the 60-70% chance for rain Saturday and Saturday night, and the 70-80% chance on Sunday made me think that the chances of us completing the tournament without getting rained out were extremely low. No one likes when that happens. So, since most teams were travelling and getting hotel rooms, I wanted everyone to be able to cancel their reservations without having to pay for one night.
Only time will tell if I made the correct decision.
Our next tournament is April 18th-19th in San Angelo, TX. We played there last year and it s a nice complex. We'd love to see you there.
Thanks for supporting Senior Softball Texas Style and NCS Senior Softball!

The schedule is posted for Bryan this weekend. Here is the link:

The forecast does not look promising, but I won't make a decision until mid-day Thursday. Texas weather changes from day to day, so who knows what the forecast will look like by then.
I'm going to be positive and say, See you all this weekend!

Iβm a little late posting the results from this weekend at The Oarks at Texas Star in Euless.
First, Thanks to Matt Barnes of TPSSA for trying this with me. It was my first time to meet him in person and he is a great guy.
We had 28 teams in 7 divisions total. We combined the 50 Major (6 teams) with the 55 Major (2 teams), and the 60 Major (4 teams) with the 65 Major (2 teams). The highest finishing team in each of those divisions got a full awards package.
So, here we go:
In the 50 Major/55 Major division, ArkLaTex Pallets/Sinclair Solutions/Quad D Electris were the Champions.
JFP/CKI from Michigan were the 55 Major Champions and advanced to the Championship game undefeated. ArkLaTex decided not to play the Championship game since both teams were getting the full proze package. They wanted to get on the road back to LA and MS. B.E.A.T. was the runner up in the 50 Major division and received Finalist rings.
In the 50 AAA (8 teams) Alamo City Heat was the undefeated team. They lost the Championship game to Heroes Athletics Hurricanes then won the IF game to take home the Championship. The Hurricanes recieved Finalist rings.
In the 55 AAA The Diablos went undefeated in the bracket to win the Championship. This is their first year playing as a 55 team.
In the 60 Major/65 Major division Matney Legends were the 65 Major Champions and finished 3rd overall. Rock N Legends was the undefeated team in the Championship game and beat Lone Star to take the Championship.
In the 60 AAA Crossfire 60 went undefeated in bracket play to take the Championship. Texas Freedom, who moved up to 60s this year from 55s finished 2nd.
Again, Thanks to everyone for the support and if this first tournament was any indication, it looks like 2026 is going to be a great year for SRSBTXS/NCS in Texas.
As always, I could not do this without Bev Cole and Jimmy McMillen and Gonzo along with our umpires.
Okay, well Facebook didn't save my Live feed, so here's basically what it said:
We are currently full for Bryan next weekend, March 7-8 at 24 teams. That is the max we can do on 4 fields in 2 days. That is starting at 8 AM both days and 10 PM games on Saturday night and 4 or 5 PM IF games on Sunday afternoon.
I have 6 teams on the waiting list and I hate turning teams away.
I have talked with the City of Bryan and they have agreed to let us use the fields from 6 PM to 10 PM on Friday night.
If we can get 6 teams to volunteer to play their Pool Games on Friday night, I can add 4 of the 6 teams into the tournament (in the order they got on the waiting list).
As a token of my appreciation, I will give these 6 teams a dozen balls (their choice of the Onxy BOOM+ or Dudleys). They would play their 2 pool games and then not have to be back at the park until bracket play starts on Saturday afternoon.
I will need to let the City of Bryan know by this Friday if we will be using the fields on Friday night, March 6th, or not.
If your team can help us out and play on Friday night, please text me, call me or DM me. I'll take the 1st 6 teams to reach out.
Thank you all for your support!
Bart
I'll be going live about 7:00 on the Senior Softball Texas Style page to talk about the upcoming Bryan tournament on March 7th-8th.
It's full and I'm trying to work it out so I can add some of the teams on the waiting list. Please tune in.
