Players have so much on their plate(and parents who fall into the fear of being left behind) but solo self training should not be sacrificed. Share if you agree!

Not a crazy concept but you would be shocked how many players have fixed mindset. Share if you think your player needs to change their own perspective.

End of an era — TF Soccer in 2017-2026 in HTX

A big thank you to all the parents, players, families, clubs and coaches from the Houston area who played part of our program. Way too many people to thank but know that I truly appreciate all of you. It was a true blessing to be apart of your player’s development and journey.

This is not the end for TF Soccer, just a start of the next chapter.

Stay tuned! TF Soccer x Chicago 🔜

I wish more parents knew how to identify if their soccer player has checked out. We often blame the player but sometimes the coaching is the problem.

Coaches are human and just because they have the authority doesn’t mean they always have your players’s best interest at heart.

Make sure to read more to see if their coach is their problem 👇

Here are 7 signs your player’s coach may not be the right fit :

1. The same mistakes keep happening through information overload

They may be getting too much feedback and never learning to solve problems on their own.

2. Their body language shuts down when corrected.

Getting coached should feel like an opportunity, not a punishment. Some coaches only focus on negative which forces your players to shut down to protect themselves.

3. They only focus on one side of the ball(defensive or offensive oriented)

They hide behind what they’re “good at” instead of developing their skill set. A good coach speaks encourages them to work on their weaknesses instead just focusing on their strengths.

4. They stop competing the moment they make a mistake.

Head down. Effort gone. Mistakes are part of the game — not the end of it.

5. They never ask questions.

The best players I’ve ever trained were curious. It is up to us coach to get their players to be interested and engaged in the craft.

6. What they learn in training disappears in the game:

They can do it perfect at practice, but nothing in game.

Habits aren’t built yet.

7. They rush instead of playing at their own speed

The pace of the game feels too fast for them, and the coach hasn’t helped them to understand how to slow the game down and execute

If you’re a soccer parent and you saw your player in this list — save and share this and follow for more help

I promise these guideline will take your player from lost and overwhelmed to a player with a clear, balanced game plan to own their develop.

So many players (and parents) ask me: “With so many training programs, How do I build a development plan? Where do I even start?”

Here’s exactly what I tell them

(Please note— these are guidelines(not rules) and your player will need to fine tune to their specific situation:)

1. Touch the ball every single day.

Consistent focus work with the ball is non-negotiable. Daily reps build the technique that sets them apart. Wall and a ball. 1v1 drills. Juggling. Ball mastery absolutely matters a ton.

2. Prioritize sleep & rest.

Their body grows when it recovers. Sleep 7+ hours daily and build in 1–2 full rest days into their week.

3. Get in the weight room.

Multiple games, practices, and trainings demand a strong body. General strength training with a knowledgable trainer protects them and levels them up.

4. Set goals & track progress monthly.

They can’t improve what they don’t measure. Make sure they take the time to review where they are and where they are going. Use the SMART goal system and track the development( I love to use UNC testing protocols)

Bonus tip: Make sure to fuel your body by fine tuning nutrition

Use these guidelines to help them own their training development and watch their game grow tremendously.

These are all things that they can do on their own.No training required BUT

IF they are serious and you are serious about helping them, make sure to follow TF Soccer Training | Private Soccer Training & mentorship for more information to guide your player on their soccer journey.

7 signs your soccer player is actually putting in the work

1️⃣ They practice when no one tells them to.

They train on their own — and they don’t just kick the ball around. They show up with a plan.

2️⃣ They work on their weaknesses, not just the fun stuff.

They’re not just doing what’s easy or what they enjoy. They’re grinding on the things they’re NOT good at yet.

3️⃣ They ask questions and study their game.

They’re not just watching highlights. They’re curious. They start seeing the game in a bigger picture — tactics, positioning, the details.

4️⃣ They stay after practice.

They’re not the first one out the door. They get in extra reps — solo or with teammates — because they know that’s how you separate yourself.

5️⃣ They compete in EVERY drill.

Not just against others — against themselves. They’re trying to beat the version of themselves from yesterday.

6️⃣ They respond well to coaching.

They don’t take it personally when a coach corrects them. They use it as fuel to get better.

7️⃣ You have to drag them away from the game.

They don’t need to be begged to play or train. They absolutely want to keep going.

You want more for your youth soccer player.

Your player feels like they are getting lost in shuffle at practice and have no confidence in games.

You take them to the trainer/camp has the most clients or because the team manager says “they’re the best.”

Part of you feels like you’re just following the crowd and doing what everyone is doing but your player still goes.

The training helps for awhile but slowly you realize they still need more guidance.

Most parents think that means that just need more training sessions or field time.

However, the reason they still struggle is because they aren’t getting enough feedback they need. They are talented , motivated and hard working but stuck.

Slowly, you see that their passion is fading.

But what if they actually need is closer guidance, not just more training time. A guide who has done it and taught others how to do it. A mentor who will help them with how to own and organize their daily development.

If that’s what you’re looking for your youth soccer player, you’re in the right place. Make sure you follow and binge our stuff!
