Curious about the Diff in these 2 JIif??
Anybody know the difference between "regular" and "natural" peanut butter?
And second, is "natural" really better for you?
YUP!
To simplify things, let's compare using a very popular brand: JIF:
** Jif (creamy, regular) versus Jif Natural.
One of the main differences is that regular Jif has hydrogenated vegetable oils (rapeseed and soybean) which makes it be solid at room temp, whereas Jif natural has palm oil. "Solid at temperature" translates into "longer shelf life".
So the easy answer to 2nd question is yes, a bit more healthy (not way more b/c palm oil is a highly saturated vegetable fat)... So the Really healthy choice is a peanut butter whose LIST OF INGREDIENTS IS: PEANUTS.
(that's it.)
And yes, that does exist! No salt, no sugar, no molasses, no mono diglycerides. JUST PEANUTS!
(you can make it yourself at home with a processor, or find online options. And some grocery stores have their own "crushers" right there in the natural foods aisle!.)

Food for thought: A lot of you are Moms or have a child in your life who is important to you.
So do I.
At a seminar last week, I was reminded of how most of our core beliefs (including our fears) and therefore attitudes about ourselves and about life are imprinted in us by the age of 5.
It got me to thinking: what am I helping to engrave in a child's mind and spirit when I interact with him or her?
I hope Confidence, Love of Learning, Care and Respect for others, more than Fear, Shame, or Limiting Beliefs.
Just inviting you to ask yourself this question, too, and reflect on how you can impact kiddos in a wonderful way!
A child's bright smile is a sign of his pure joy for life; let's help him keep it intact!
