It lengthens the hamstrings and stretches the back, thighs and calves. It can increase mental calmness and decrease anxiety.

Ustrasana (Camel Pose):

Ustrasana is a deep backbend yoga pose that resembles the hump of a camel. It involves kneeling on the knees and arching the back to place the hands on the heels or blocks.

Doing this asana regularly Improves flexibility of the spine, chest, and shoulders , opens up the heart and respiratory system,strengthens the back, abdominal, and hip muscles. It also stimulates the thyroid and parathyroid glands.

Yoga backbends are one of the main categories of yoga poses. Practicing backbends open up the front body, increase your hip flexibility, and improve the mobility of your lumbar and thoracic spine. Backbends need to be balanced with an equal amount of quantity and intensity of forward bending yoga poses. Backbends will be more challenging to practice if you sit at a desk all day or have low-back pain.

KURMASANA (tortoise pose) :
It is an intense forward fold that shuts out sensory distractions and quiets the nervous system, it tones the spine, activates the abdominal organs, and keeps one energetic and healthy.
Of course, these great effects are possible only if you have enough flexibility in your hips, shoulders, and back to practice the pose safely. So proceed slowly and deliberately, paying attention to your breath and alignment.
