When I retired after over forty years in corporate, I read every congratulatory message people sent me.
None of them mentioned a revenue number or a project deadline.
They said things like "You supported me even before I believed in myself." "You made me laugh through my pain at the right moment." "You changed the direction of my career."
Reading them, I realized something I wish I had understood at 25.
Most careers move through three seasons:
Survival is proving you belong.
Success is proving you can win.
Significance is making sure others win because you were there.
I spent a lot of years chasing success. By God's grace, starting with Jean and Marshall, He kept putting people in my path who pointed me toward significance.
So I want to hear about yours.
