When I was young I spent all my time looking to understand how to experience reality, exactly like it was, i.e. ultimate reality.

I didn't realize I was experiencing it the entire time.

You *can* be happy right now, in spite of your circumstances.

If you don't think you can, you only lack one single experience - a moment when you turned on the happiness inside you.

You can have that experience, with just a little practice.

Spend a moment re-feeling a time in your life when you were deeply happy.

Sit with that for as long as you can.

Even if it only lasts for a brief moment - that's all it takes to realize you're free to be happy whenever you want.

Do not allow your conflicts to become permanent.
It is better to yield, and return home.
Be content with what you have,
In the end you'll receive a greater reward.

Great success comes only by internal correctness.

The simple truth of my life is I spend most of it in pain, both external and internal.

As such, most of my focus is on strategies to reduce the suffering that accompanies it.

I don't imagine very many people are different from me in this regard.

We're all searching for the way to stop, or avoid, our moment-by-moment suffering.

When the family is in order,
All the social relationships of mankind will be in order.

Seek nothing by means of force,
But quietly be confined to the duties at hand.
