Napoleon Dynamite should not be looking this sharp after just his 6th session! I teach my students shift their FOCUS on the task at hand. Whether it's the bags, the focus mitts or the sticks the task at hand is to fire your shots down the centerline. You're fighting on opposing force, so in order to land a punch you must throw where the target is GOING TO BE not where its at to land with maximal force. In other words , you want your target to run into your punch. If the sticks are coming done the centerline and his hands are coming down the centerline then meeting in the middle will result in maximum force of impact.

Been focusing on my precision with my my leg strikes for the last week or so and each day I definitely feel very balanced as well as accurate. The fact that I'm not stutter stepping or having to adjust my angle to land sharply means that I'm striking from the perfect distance. When working a drill like this its always a good sign that the pads aren't being shifted or hit awkwardly. I'm landing on the shin perfectly and my leg is following the same path back downward and in right back in my stance to strike again. Your intensity can be 100% in the gym everyday but without slowing it down to focus on technique every now and then......well you're setting yourself up to throw ineffective strikes with 100%intensity which equates to alot of wasted energy.
