Heart of Texas Invitational

What a fun day we’ve had with our American Smooth and International Ballroom competitors! We’ve got a full morning of dancing rhythm, latin, and club dances tomorrow, so make plans to join us!

Pull out your black tie apparel for our Masquerade Ball on Thursday, October 2nd! If you’re dancing with us at our ballroom event, your event pass covers your entry into the ball! For everyone else, it’s a $15 cover! Join us for a night of elegance and dancing!

Meet Jack, Catherine, and Kayla! Catherine has been an Event Director since the mid-2000s, Jack came on as Event Director in 2021, with Kayla joining the staff as the Assistant in 2023. We still have one VERY important person to highlight from our behind the scenes tour!

Ms. Kayla Hicklin Russell is our Assistant to the Directors, and an incredibly essential piece to both Waltz Across Texas and Heart of Texas Invitational dance events.

If you were with us this weekend, or followed us on social media, you've seen Kayla's hard work and dedication!

She makes sure, not just during the event, but throughout the year, that you all are kept in the know about everything going on with our events. Kayla manages our social media behind-the-scenes and on site, tends to our staff and patrons to proactively make sure they have the best experience possible!

She may be tiny, but she is mighty. 💪🏼💋
