Houstons best Taekwondo program!

04/27/2026

Huge congratulations to our G-Force Competition Team for an outstanding weekend at the 2026 Texas State Championships!

This was a big milestone for our team. We had 29 athletes compete across five different age groups, and every single athlete came home with a medal.

Final team results:

🥇 13 Gold
🥈 10 Silver
🥉 6 Bronze

For many of our athletes, this was their first State Championship and their first real experience competing with the PSS electronic scoring system. That is a big step, and they handled it extremely well.

This was also the first State Championship that Coach Gianni and I coached together with this group we built, and it was great seeing the growth, effort, and potential across the entire team.

We are proud of every athlete who stepped on the mat, every parent who supported the process, and every teammate who helped push this team forward.

The future is bright for G-Force. We are excited to keep building, keep developing, and keep helping more students from our regular program cross over into competition.

Great job, team. The work continues.

Another step forward. Another level earned.

Proud of the effort, focus, and discipline shown on the mat.

Let’s keep building.

Different pace. Different mindset.

No shortcuts. No wasted reps.

04/07/2026

Coordination. Confidence. Discipline.

Built early… so they’re ready later.

HC Taekwondo | Houston Open Recap

Today wasn’t about medals.
It was about development.

🏅 Gold: 17
🥈 Silver: 8

But numbers don’t tell the real story.

We had:
• First-time competitors stepping on the mat
• Athletes moving up in age divisions
• Fighters challenging bigger, stronger opponents
• Beginners testing themselves in real competition
• Experienced athletes pushing beyond their comfort zones

This is what local tournaments are for.

This is where the pipeline starts.

Before the national stage…
Before international events…
Before rankings and titles…

It starts here.

Learning how to:
• Handle pressure
• Apply what we train
• Adjust in real time
• Compete, win, lose, and grow

Too often, people focus on results.
But results are just a byproduct.

Development is the goal.

At HC Taekwondo, we build athletes step by step.
From first-time competitors…
To national champions…
And beyond.

And no matter the level—
no one is above the process.

I want to recognize the people behind the scenes:

👏 Miss Martinez – Thank you for your continued commitment to these athletes. Your growth as a coach and your presence today made a difference.

👏 Adelina – Stepping into the coaching chair and leading from the outside. This is the next level of development, and you handled it. Proud of you.

To our athletes:

It doesn’t matter if you won gold, silver, or didn’t place.

What matters is:
You showed up.
You faced it.
You fought.

That’s how growth happens.

Keep stacking.

HC Taekwondo isn’t built on wins.
It’s built on development, discipline, and consistency.

And today was another step forward.

Kiera Holmes
Saneyi Sanandi
Dahna Tao
Adelina De Leon (x2)

Athletes Stepping Up

Several athletes challenged themselves by competing up in age or weight divisions this weekend.

• Dahna Tao defeated a US Open silver medalist and USA National B-Team member
• Allyson Chen fought up into a 16-year-old Junior division and won Gold
• Alyssa Chen fought up into the Cadet division and won Gold
• Sonny Phelps competed Junior for the first time and earned Silver
• Kiera Holmes fought six weight classes up and still won
• Adelina De Leon pushed herself by competing up in the Junior division

That willingness to challenge themselves is what builds champions.

Next Up

Now the focus shifts to the next major goal:

Texas State Championships.

From Youth → Cadet → Junior → International, G-Force is competing at every level of the sport — and the momentum is building.

Proud of every athlete who stepped on the mat this weekend.

Let’s go G-Force. 🔥🥋

TEAM TRIALS RECAP — PROUD OF THIS SQUAD.

This weekend, 10 athletes from HC Taekwondo qualified for USA Team Trials. We walked away with:

🇺🇸 2 National Team Members
🥋 4 B-Team Members

More importantly… every athlete stepped up, faced pressure, and represented our school with heart, discipline, and pride.

Wins. Losses. Lessons. Growth.
This is what building a real competition program looks like.

Proud of every athlete, every family, and every coach who helped make this happen.

The work continues. The standard keeps rising.
