🪞 A veces, lo que vemos en los demás es simplemente un espejo.
Últimamente he estado reflexionando sobre cómo aquello que juzgamos, rechazamos o nos cuesta aceptar en otras personas puede estar mostrándonos las partes de nosotros mismos que todavía no hemos aprendido a aceptar completamente.
Nuestra imperfección.
Nuestra vulnerabilidad.
Nuestros días desordenados.
Esos momentos en los que simplemente no tenemos todo bajo control.
¿Y si, en lugar de exigirnos perfección, aprendiéramos a tratarnos con amor, compasión y gracia?
Ser imperfectos no nos hace menos valiosos.
Ser vulnerables no nos hace débiles.
Y tener un mal día no borra todo el crecimiento que ya hemos logrado.

Sometimes the person you love is not trying to hurt you.
They are simply still protecting themselves from a past that is no longer happening. 🦔🎈
This is beautifully represented by the Porcupine Dilemma, a philosophical analogy introduced by Arthur Schopenhauer and later discussed by Sigmund Freud: we deeply desire closeness, yet the emotional “spines” we develop to protect ourselves can hurt the very people who come closest to us.
Imagine loving a porcupine.😢
You approach with balloons—love, patience, hope, understanding. You know the quills aren’t about you. You understand where they came from. So when one balloon pops, you forgive. Then another. And another.
You keep thinking, “If I love them enough, eventually they’ll feel safe with me.”
But sometimes they don’t.
Because understanding someone’s wounds doesn’t stop those wounds from wounding you.
Their past begins living inside your present.
The betrayal they experienced becomes suspicion of you.
The abandonment they survived becomes fear of losing you.
The rejection they endured becomes difficulty receiving your love.
The walls that once protected them become the walls keeping you out.
And perhaps the saddest part is that there may be real love on both sides.
No villain.
No lack of love.
Just two people wanting closeness while one person’s unresolved past keeps puncturing the present.
Eventually, the person carrying the balloons has to understand something too:
You can love the porcupine deeply without volunteering to be pierced by its quills.
Healing cannot be done for someone.
And sometimes walking away isn’t proof that the love wasn’t real.
Sometimes it’s accepting that the past cannot be allowed to keep destroying the present.
Because eventually, even the person who loves you most can run out of balloons. 🎈

The problem isn’t the affirmation.
The problem is when someone says:
“Money comes to me easily.”
But doesn’t know:
* what they sell
* who they serve
* how to market
* how to invoice
* how to keep books
* how to comply with regulations
* how to deliver consistently
You could say:
I don’t believe affirmations are wrong. In fact, many helped me overcome fear and limiting beliefs. The problem is when we use affirmations to avoid structure. Because abundance without structure becomes chaos. And money without systems eventually leaves.
