Huge congratulations to all of the top finishers of CPR 2025! We were absolutely blown away by the speed in both the Running and Rucking Divisions! What’s even more incredible? Every single team that started crossed the finish line. We are so grateful for the overwhelming support that has made this event truly special. Thank you to the participants, their families, volunteers, and our sponsors for making CPR 2025 an unforgettable experience.

I was thrilled to receive a request from Bernice at The Galveston County Daily News to discuss The Coastal Plains Relay, its growth, and the emphasis on uniting friends and families. Thank you 🙏🏼

And they’re off! All runners have stepped off 🏃‍♀️ 🏃 Now the teams will swap runners until they have finished all 75 miles (maybe closer to 76.8 miles, but who’s counting) then celebrate with a tailgate finish! 🎉

Good luck to all the Ruckers and Runners on the route! Stay safe and have FUN!

My brother-in-law, Christopher, and his family (pictured above) are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl, due September 16, 2025. She is already so deeply loved, and we’re all holding onto hope and strength as we prepare to welcome her into the world.

Unfortunately, our unborn niece has been diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and serious congenital heart defect which means the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. This is the side of the heart that pumps blood to the rest of the body. Her journey will involve multiple life-saving surgeries and specialized medical care starting from birth.

All donations will go directly to supporting the Abila family during this difficult time and covering the significant medical costs ahead.

As a symbol of gratitude and solidarity, every donor participating in The Coastal Plains Relay will receive a red and blue ribbon to wear on race day, honoring her fight and showing that no one battles alone.

Thank you for standing with us.

Signed,
The Alford/Abila Family
