REMEMBER WHEN
As I look back I see some old posts of great memories had through the many years I was blessed to coach. As time passes I see formers doing their thing! Coaching, both at the college and high school levels. Teachers, Police Officers, Firemen, EMS First Responders, Business Owners, Trainers and Blues, players in the minors and MLB. Special Opps in the military and a host of other professions that makes not only a mom and dad proud but the guy who was given the priceless privileges to be a friend and share his passion along with his wife’s passion, of a game near and dear to our hearts.
One should be so fortunate to see a full circle where now they begin to share their passion with their kids. Talk about being blessed. One of GODs greatest gifts.
Who knows, one day I could step back out onto a field where many great memories occurred and saw some of the greatest talent that could have been. The things we strive for, but don’t see the bigger picture as to what we are striving for. A family, a career, or a little league or select coach out there to help make a difference in one’s kids life. Just be very careful if you do! Because before you know it they will have made a place in your heart that will forever be there and dig in like an Alabama Tick. This is true.
Or, just take a walk around the bases and Remember When.
See you on the field

Experts say that the Astros are seemingly making bad moves by not keeping players who are showing poise or have been nails through oir championship runs. Ok, I’ll give them a nod, however after loosing Bregman and Tucker it was said by some we would be near or at the bottom of this division.
What give? Did the players not get the notice?
They’re not supposed to be vying for the division crown. Half a game out and almost through first quarter and they are playing good ball. But why? We have young players and Christian isn’t hitting his weight and Yordan out, how can this be?
Culture! A winning culture. You come in and get bit by the culture bug that shows what how and why this team has continued its winning ways. Add that to the leaders in the clubhouse and you have an ingredient that speaks volumes about dedication and commitment to playing with everything you got win or lose. The never give up attitude and doing your best to step up when the time comes. Sounds like life, because it is. Man I like this game!
Right now we have young arms that are showing how much they want to perform and perform well. Then the veterans like Brown and Valdez leading the rotation. Albeit this is where the experts say The Astros are miking a bad move….by not securing Granber when they had the chance. What we as fans don’t see is the next Franner out there about to make a huge impact and best for them…Pennie’s on the dollar. Paying a fraction of what it would have cost them to sign Gramber and getting the same results. It’s not only baseball, it’s a business and this is how wing organizations stay atop the leader board. Yes we and the so called experts don’t like it but it’s business. Gotta do what the man who signs the checks says to do.
Although there is more baseball to play, we can see that we are in apposition to be right in the thick of things…should we stay healthy! The key to any championship run. Every team knows this. Just have to make sure all the pieces are taken good care of.
With that let’s keep cheering and we’ll see what happens next season…..next season. We live in the moment and the moment is exciting.
GO ASTROS!!!!
Been a minute since I’ve posted directly on here, but here we go.
Astros let Bregman go, good deal, because that’s what it was, a good deal. For him! That being said, I’ve contended over the years, is that the Astros organization is indeed one of the best at finding nurturing and getting the best out of their PROSPECTS! That’s what they are, yes people but prospects. Can’t quite remember which player it was who left here and said, Hey it’s a business, doesn’t mean I don’t or won’t come back! And that’s exactly right. It’s a business. Bregman took a deal that wasn’t what Boras promised but it will have him paid good.
Look can’t hate because he left us here with a legacy that will read well in his HOF consideration second third time around. He will be in Cooperstown, he should be a shoe in. We’ll see, but until then, new team, new chapter, let’s do this!
