We took home FIRST PLACE in the medium division at the Sprint Sizzler!

And, we had 4 swimmers get HIGH POINT!

Today, our final senior spotlight of the week is on Ace Shirley!

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Ace Shirley 🐊

Join us in celebrating Ace Shirley, an outstanding multi-sport athlete graduating from Cypress Ranch High School and a proud member of the Stonegators Swim Club for the last 8 years! Ace is the son of Jason and Stephanie Shirley.

Ace has absolutely dominated the pool throughout his high school career, especially in water polo. He kicked things off as the freshman Newcomer of the Year, earned All-District and Academic All-District honors all 4 years, and capped off his high school career as the senior water polo District MVP! 🤽‍♂️🔥

This fall, Ace is heading out west to play water polo at Mount San Antonio College in California, where he will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering. His ultimate career goal? Well, even though he will technically be a mechanical engineer, Ace truly aspires to be a rodeo clown. He plans to travel the rodeo circuits, bravely shielding one cowboy at a time from wild animals! 🤠🐂

Ace’s favorite Stonegator memory is primarily spending time with Coach Matt—mostly because Coach Matt is just really, really incredibly smart and has amazing hair, which is honestly something Ace deeply aspires to. What he’ll miss most is all of the incredible advice Coach Matt gave him over the years, alongside those early morning practices that Ace rarely ever missed. 😉

His advice to younger Stonegators: "Honestly, at the risk of sounding repetitive, listen to the coaches. Their knowledge and experience knows no bounds."

Ace, your parents put it best: "We are so proud of everything Ace has accomplished. Being a multi-sport athlete in high school and going on to continue his athletic career in college. Our house is going to be a lot quieter without our Baby Ace to fill the space. We love you!"

Your entire Stonegator family is so incredibly proud of you, Ace! We can't wait to watch you crush it in California water polo (and the rodeo circuit)! 🇺🇸

✨ FUN FACT: Ace was actually a ring bearer in Coach Matt's wedding over 16 years ago!
