Marriage takes intentional effort.
Not perfection. Not pretending. Not acting like everything is always fine.
Just two people willing to communicate, reconnect, laugh together, grow together, and keep showing up for each other.
That’s why we created Real Talk: Marriage Edition.
This is a relaxed, interactive day filled with honest conversations, live panel discussions, practical workshops, and real tools couples can actually use in everyday life.
No pressure. No fake perfection. Just real talk about real marriage.

We’re doing something a little different… and we’re really excited about it. 💛
Marriage gets busy. Life gets loud.
And sometimes you’re living side by side… but not really aligned.
So we created a day to change that.
👉 The Aligned Conference
👉 September 19 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
This isn’t a heavy, sit-there-all-day kind of event.
It’s a fun, engaging, real day for couples to:
✔ reconnect
✔ laugh
✔ have real conversations
✔ and walk away with tools you can actually use
We’ll have:
✨ Worship + guided prayer together
✨ Real talk panel (nothing fake, nothing perfect)
✨ Interactive workshops
✨ Time to actually connect as a couple
✨ Lunch, snacks… and yes, giveaways 😉
Whether things are great or a little out of sync… this is a day to invest in what really matters.
You don’t have to be struggling to come.
You just have to be willing to show up—together.

36 years today.
36 years of choosing each other… not perfectly, but consistently. 36 years of growing up together, figuring things out, and staying when it would’ve been easier to walk away.
Marriage isn’t always easy… but it’s worth it.
It’s choosing each other again and again.
It’s learning how to fight for each other, not against each other.
We’ve had some incredible highs… and some really hard seasons too. But through all of it, God has been faithful. Every time.
He’s been our foundation, our strength, and the One who held us together when we felt stretched.
And here we are… 36 years later. Still standing. Still building. Still choosing each other.
What we have isn’t perfect… it’s real. And it’s legacy.

Vanguard Men’s Conference March 2026 was a success.
Not because everything went perfect…
but because God showed up.
Men were challenged.
Men were sharpened.
Men encountered God—and you could see it.
Lives were shifted. Chains broke. Direction was restored.
This wasn’t just an event.
This was a call to rise.
Watchman—stand your post.

You ever catch yourself complaining about your spouse, your kids, your life… and then have to stop and ask:
“But did you pray?”
Yeah… I go there in my house. Todd loves it 😏
But let’s be honest…
We’ll talk about everything.
We’ll vent.
We’ll replay the situation 10 different ways.
But prayer? That becomes the afterthought.
And then we wonder why nothing is shifting.
Your home doesn’t change because you talked about it. It shifts when you pray about it.
Not a quick “God bless today” and move on…
I’m talking about intentional prayer.
Praying over your spouse:
• their stress
• their decisions
• their walk with God
Praying over your kids:
• their identity
• their friendships
• their future
Praying over your home:
• unity
• peace
• alignment
If you’re not praying over it… you’re leaving it uncovered.
Real talk… some of the things we’re frustrated about in our home aren’t changing because we haven’t actually taken them to God.
So before you bring it up again… before you vent again…
Ask yourself: Did I pray about this… or just talk about it?

This is where it changed.
Not a story. Not a symbol. A real moment… with real weight.
A nail. A hammer. A man who chose to stay.
Jesus wasn’t overpowered, He surrendered.
He took the hit. He took the weight. He finished it.
That nail didn’t just go through His hands…
it paid for your freedom.
That hammer didn’t just strike wood…
it broke the authority of sin over your life.
Men, we don’t need more talk. We need a return to the cross.
This is what we’re stepping into at Vanguard.
Not hype. Not surface-level.
Real encounter. Real conviction. Realignment.
You don’t walk out the same when you understand what He did. And how we are to live it out as watchmen.
It’s time to get marked.

Before God fixes your marriage… He will often check your heart. That’s the part nobody likes to talk about.
We want God to change our spouse, fix the tension, remove the frustration… But sometimes the breakthrough starts when we say:
“Lord, search me first.” Psalm 139:23–24
Real authority in your home doesn’t come from control… It comes from surrender.
It comes from allowing the Holy Spirit to correct your tone, your reactions, your expectations, and even your silence.
Because you can’t bring peace into your home
if there’s chaos still ruling inside of you.
God didn’t call you to win arguments,
He called you to build something that lasts.
And sometimes that means:
• choosing humility over being right
• choosing peace over proving a point
• choosing to pause before you respond
That’s not weakness… That’s spiritual maturity.
That’s how strong homes are built.
So today, instead of asking,
“God, fix them…”
Ask,
“God, refine me.”
Because when one person gets aligned with God, it shifts the atmosphere of the whole home.
Stand in your authority.
Guard your home.
And let God start with you.

Men were never meant to sit on the sidelines.
They were meant to STAND. LEAD. BUILD. DEFEND.
Next Saturday we are gathering men from across the area for the Vanguard Men’s Conference. A full day of worship, teaching, brotherhood, and a powerful interactive session called “Marked by the Cross.”
There will be a moment in this conference that every man will remember.
If you have a son, bring him.
If you have a brother, friend, or father, invite him.
Some moments shape a man.
Some moments shape generations.

Men, it’s time to rise.

Your home is not just where you live.
It is where spiritual authority is established.
The enemy will always try to attack the home first. Through division, distraction, busyness, offense, and exhaustion. If he can keep a family too tired, too distracted, or too disconnected, he knows he can weaken the foundation.
But God never intended your home to operate in chaos. He designed it to be a place of covering, prayer, and spiritual leadership. And when the design of the family is out of order, there will be chaos.
Someone in the house has to decide that the enemy doesn’t get access there anymore.
Not every battle is fought in public.
Many of the most important ones are fought in the quiet moments inside your home.
The way you speak to your spouse.
The way you respond in disagreement.
The way you pray over your family when no one else sees.
Those small decisions build spiritual authority in your home.
Be careful what you trade your time for, because time doesn’t give refunds.
Every moment spent investing in your marriage, your children, and the spiritual atmosphere of your home is building something eternal.
You don’t have to be perfect to lead your home well. You just have to be willing to invite God into it.
Joshua said it clearly: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
That wasn’t just a statement of belief. It was a declaration of authority.
Your home can be a place of peace.
Your home can be a place of prayer.
Your home can be a place where God’s presence lives.
But it starts with a decision.
