Heartland Roller Derby, Houston, TX (2026)

About Heartland Roller Derby Union (HRDU)❤️🖤

We are the newest grassroots roller derby league in the South Houston region of Texas, proudly serving the Clear Lake, Webster, Pasadena, Seabrook, and surrounding communities. Heartland Roller Derby Union is a Texas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building strong athletes, confident leaders, and connected communities through the sport of roller derby. HRDU is committed to creating an inclusive, empowering environment for youth and adults of all backgrounds to develop athletic skills, teamwork, leadership, and personal growth in a safe, supportive, and structured setting. We believe roller derby is more than a sport — it’s a platform for confidence, mentorship, volunteerism, and meaningful community engagement. As a newly growing and expanding league, Heartland Roller Derby Union is actively building adult and juniors programs aligned with the standards and competitive governance of the WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) and JRDA (Junior Roller Derby Association), while also exploring the development of an MRDA-aligned Men’s program. We intend to pursue sanctioning pathways as we become eligible and are committed to collaborating with other leagues and organizations as we establish our presence in the region. We are recruiting skaters, referees, volunteers, and community partners who would love to connect, get involved, and be part of building something meaningful with us from the ground up. We’d love for you to be part of the Heartland family as we grow — on the track, in the stands, and throughout our community. ❤️🖤
