Always a pleasure having Christian James Symons beautiful Explorer ST back in the shop! What started as a straightforward headlight swap turned into a sweet little upgrade session.

Believe it or not, this ST has 130k miles on it all original motor, trans and drivetrain! Runs like an absolute top! Tuned by us using Adam Staszak behind the keys, this thing proves what these platforms can do when they’re taken care of!

Here’s what we knocked out:

Headlight Upgrade: Swapped out his old units for a fresh set of PIUs.

Upgraded the under-tray to an HSF skid plate (way better than that ripped factory carpeted piece!), plus added our HSF ECU cover and w/w fluid cover to clean up the engine bay.

Made a couple of quick changes in Forscan to get everything dialed in perfectly.

Christian also had a broken bracket for his catch can, so we whipped up a custom, 1-of-1 HSF catch can bracket in about 15 minutes to keep it locked down tight!

16 hours on the road to head up to the Explorer ST Tennessee meet, and it was worth every single mile. Got to link up with some awesome people and rip through the Tail of the Dragon with a pack of absolutely beautiful Explorers.

I ended up taking the new Avalanche Gray Raptor through the 318 curves, and I am seriously impressed by this new generation. You can see exactly how hard we were leaning into the corners here—this thing has absolutely no business handling as good as it does for a truck of its size. Pushed it as hard as it would go on that damp pavement and it didn’t break traction a single time. 0% wheel spin, zero drama, just pure grip. All mayo, no mustard, even for this wide girl taking up what feels like almost the whole lane.

Hands down an absolute heater of a trip with a killer crew!
