Please join us in praying for Jaceon
“Jaceon had very positive neuro exam tonight, the best that he’s been able to provide so far which was amazing. He will be having another surgery first thing in the morning on his abdomen and he remains in stable but critical condition. Our family simply cannot say thank everyone enough and truly express our gratitude for all the love and support this family has received. We are humbled and truly blown away to realize how many people this family touched and what they meant to those that knew them. This stands true for the generosity of those that may not know them but have chosen to help support this family through this tragedy. Learning and understanding how much they meant to so many people beyond what we already knew has been beautiful beyond what we can currently comprehend. We want everyone to know that the love and support has remained our lifeline as we continue getting through this together and staying by Jaceon’s side as he continues his fight.” (10 pm 9/21)
Jaceon’s abdominal surgery has been pushed to tomorrow. We spoke with the head surgeon this morning, and it’s actually a good sign—they feel confident giving him another day of rest before going in. As of now, he’s scheduled for surgery tomorrow. (Update 10 am 9/21)
Update 9/20
He has two broken vertebrae, a broken right arm, and he did have ruptures in both his small and large intestines. The surgical team was able to operate on the intestinal injuries right away, and he will need another surgery as part of that ongoing repair process.
They are also monitoring a bleed in his brain, but right now he is stable, and the team is watching him closely to make sure there are no changes.
It’s a lot, but he’s holding steady, and the doctors are staying ahead of each issue as it comes. Please keep him in your prayers.

Our Red Clay Athletics family is deeply heartbroken to share that Jaceon, formerly with our 10U Latimer team, was involved in a devastating car accident over the weekend. His younger sister, Cori, and both parents tragically did not survive.
At this time, Jaceon is in critical but stable condition at Duke University Hospital, cared for by his grandparents and uncle.
Jaceon has always been a bright, hardworking, and joyful presence on the field — a kid who lifted up his teammates and made our program better simply by being part of it. His Red Clay family holds him close in our hearts, and we are surrounding him with love, strength, and unwavering support. Even though he technically was not part of our team week to week, he still has very close friendships within our team and his family was close with many of our families
We know this news is incredibly difficult for our players, families, and coaches. Our hearts are with Jaceon, his extended family, and everyone who loved Cori and her parents. Their loss is felt across our entire community.
There is a gofundme set up if you feel so inclined and we ask our Red Clay families to keep Jaceon lifted up in prayer.
