Welcome Aboard, Coach Dan DeMent! ⚾️

USA Scout Birmingham family, we're excited to announce that Dan DeMent is joining our staff!

Coach DeMent brings Major League experience to our program. He coached in the big leagues as the Assistant Hitting Coach for the Tampa Bay Rays (2022–2023), and for the last three seasons he's been the Hitting Coach for the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

Before coaching, he played professionally from 2000–2007 as an infielder and outfielder in the Rays and Nationals organizations.

Coach DeMent will be working with our players in the facility and at Wednesday practices, helping build out our athlete development programming. Having a big league hitting coach pouring into our guys is a huge win for our players and our program.

Please help us give Coach DeMent a warm USA Scout welcome! 👏

Want to train with me but live out of town, out of state, or don’t have access to a pitching coach nearby? I’m bringing my coaching to you through the Talley Performance Remote Pitching Program.

We’ll start with a video assessment and goals built around your athlete. From there, they’ll have a detailed daily plan in our app for throwing, arm strength, mechanics, and pre- and post-throw work, with instructional videos for every drill. We’ll also cover pitch grips, the mental side of pitching, and recruiting.

Athletes will have video calls with me every two weeks and the ability to message me through the app anytime. I want to know what they’re working on, see how they’re progressing, and be there when they need guidance.

I’m only taking a small group when the program opens so I can give each pitcher my personal attention. If you want to be considered for one of those spots, join the waitlist now. Open to pitchers 13U through pro.
