π΄π¬ Q&A TUESDAY β Caribbean Qarnival 5K π¬π΄
Every Tuesday is Q&A Tuesday! Have a question about the race, the mission, or the impact? DM us your question and weβll post it with the answer.
β What does Y.O.U.T.H. Friendship Foundation, Inc. do with the proceeds from the race?
Great question! ππΎ
The Caribbean Qarnival 5K exists to raise awareness for mental health and to help connect individuals and families with professional mental health resources. Proceeds from the race are donated to nonprofit organizations that align with this mission.
In addition, Y.O.U.T.H. Friendship Foundation, Inc. (YFF) promotes community uplift by providing scholarships for local students and giving back to local mental healthβfocused organizations, ensuring the impact of the race extends beyond race day and into the community year-round.
π§ 2025 Impact:
Proceeds from the 2025 Caribbean Qarnival Mental Health Awareness 5K & Mental Health Fair were donated to WellStone of Huntsville, North Alabamaβs largest nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider. This contribution supported WellStoneβs mission to deliver accessible mental health and substance use services to individuals of all ages across its 12 facilities throughout North Alabama.
ποΈ 2024 Impact:
In 2024, proceeds from the Caribbean Qarnival were donated to Village of Promise, a Family Advancement Center serving under-resourced communities in Northwest Huntsville. Village of Promise empowers families to break the cycle of poverty through education and multi-generational support, helping children succeed in school, work, and life.
β¨ Looking Ahead to 2026:
Building on this momentum, a portion of proceeds from the 2026 Caribbean Qarnival 5K will again be directed toward local mental health and community-based organizations, further expanding access to care, education, and culturally competent support for underserved populations.
π© Have a question? Send us a message and tune in for next Q&A Tuesday!
