The Amateur Athletic Union Congratulates Ten Outstanding Recipients for the AAU National Scholarship
After receiving hundreds of applications from talented and hardworking amateur athletes from across the nation, the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is proud to announce 10 recipients of the 2026 AAU National Scholarship. AAU awarded scholarships to five female and five male athletes valued at $10,000 each. These scholarships are awarded directly to the recipient’s college/university.

The AAU is committed to providing opportunities to develop athletes both on and off the playing surface. The winners of this year’s scholarships are truly the complete athlete, excelling not only on the field, but also as students in the classroom and as model citizens in their community. Join us in celebrating our 10 winners!

Lizzy Wolf – AAU Wrestling
Lizzy has been participating in AAU Wrestling events for the past 5 years and has quickly honed her skills in the sport. Lizzy has earned first place in 2025 and 2026 at the AAU State Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. These opportunities have also awarded her the chance to compete at the AAU Scholastic Duals while also adding great accolades to her name. Lizzy earned All-American honors for four years while competing in the AAU Twin River Duals and has built her passion for perfection in the sport. Lizzy Wolf will follow her love of wrestling and continue her educational journey at Iowa State University.

Wrestling Opportunity- Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Scholastic Duals.

We are currently finishing the roster for one of our Iowa All-Star teams that will be competing at the 2026 National Scholastic Duals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from June 22nd–29th, and we are looking for a few wrestlers to help fill remaining weights.

The open weights are:

This event is one of the premier summer dual tournaments in the country and brings together top competition from across the United States. Wrestlers will compete in a minimum of 12 matches over three days at the Broward County Convention Center.

In addition to the competition, the trip also includes:

Airfare from Des Moines
Hotel accommodations in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando
Universal Studios & Water Park trip
Iowa team gear package
Transportation throughout the trip
The team will travel June 22nd–29th, with competition running June 24th–26th followed by a Universal Studios team trip June 26th–29th.

There have been many people asking questions about the status of the Iowa AAU Kids State Tournament for boys in 3rd through 8th grade in 2027. This event WILL be happening on Feb. 26-28 in 2027 at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines with the eight district qualifying tournaments on Feb. 7th. This will be the 38th year for this event and we will do the best we can to continue to run a quality event on that date in that location for many years to come. We truly appreciate the continued support as we work to provide a tournament for wrestlers of all levels to compete.
