🥎 PARENTS & FANS — COLLEGE COACHES ARE WATCHING YOU TOO.

When college coaches show up to watch your daughter, remember something:

They aren't always watching just the player between the lines.

They're watching how she carries herself after striking out.
They're watching how she responds after an error.
They're watching whether she hustles when nobody is cheering.
They're watching how she treats her teammates and coaches.

And sometimes, they're watching the people sitting in the stands too.

Parents, this is where we have to do our part.

Cheer for your kid. Cheer for her teammates. Be loud. Be proud. Enjoy the game.

But don't coach from the stands.

Don't argue every strike call.

Don't yell at umpires.

Don't criticize the coach because you don't agree with a lineup decision.

Don't make excuses every time your daughter struggles.

And don't tear down another player's kid trying to build yours up.

Your daughter is trying to show a college coach that she can handle pressure, adversity, coaching, failure and success. Give her the opportunity to prove it herself.

If she strikes out, let her respond.

If she makes an error, let her recover.

If her coach gets onto her, let her learn how to handle being coached.

Those moments are part of becoming a college athlete.

And when college coaches are around, don't chase them down and try to sell your daughter. Let her play, her effort, her attitude and her character do the talking.

One of the best things we can do as parents is make sure our behavior never becomes the reason a coach thinks twice about our kid.

Let the coaches coach.
Let the umpires umpire.
Let the players play.
And let your daughter own her recruiting journey.

Be her biggest supporter—not another obstacle she has to overcome. 🥎

🥎 ITS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS COACHES TO PROTECT OUR PLAYERS 🥎

This is a quick video, but pay close attention to what happens.

This happened this weekend. Kinzlie hit a line drive straight back at the pitcher, who was not wearing a protective face mask. Kinzlie’s measured exit velocity is 64 mph, meaning the ball leaves the bat traveling nearly 94 feet per second. Even after accounting for the ball slowing slightly in flight, it could still be traveling around 60 mph when it reaches the pitcher. From that short distance, the pitcher may have less than half a second to react.

Thankfully, this pitcher was not seriously injured and was able to come back in and finish the game. But this could have ended very differently.

This is exactly why I believe every pitcher should wear a protective face mask. It only takes one line drive back up the middle for everything to change. You can’t rely on reaction time when a softball is coming back at you that fast.

No game is worth risking a serious facial or head injury. Protect your pitchers. Wear the mask. 🥎

NTX Xplosion 14U played our first tournament as a 14U team this weekend, and these girls showed up and competed!

After 8 games against some really talented teams, we finished 2nd place, losing 6-5 against a strong second-year 14U B team.

For our first tournament together at the 14U level, we couldn’t be more proud of the way these girls battled, competed, and represented Xplosion. There’s plenty to learn and plenty to improve on—but that’s the exciting part.

This is only the beginning. Things are only going to get better from here!

🥎 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT 🥎

We want to recognize one of the hardest-working players in the NTX Xplosion Fastpitch organization.

About a year ago, in June of 2025, Summer Mitchell walked into lessons with us after only a couple of years of rec ball experience. She lacked confidence, struggled to hit front toss consistently, had difficulty receiving the ball as a catcher, and was still learning the situational side of the game.

What happened next wasn't luck—it was relentless hard work.

Summer committed to the process. She showed up. She listened (with a little less attitude as time went on 😂). She put in countless extra swings, worked tirelessly on her catching, studied the game, embraced coaching, and never stopped believing she could become better.

Fast forward one year...

⭐ Selected as a USSSA All-American
✈️ Headed to Florida to represent her region

This didn't happen overnight. It happened because she was willing to trust the process, push through the hard days, and keep showing up when no one was watching.

Summer's journey is proof that talent might open the door, but attitude, effort, consistency, and coachability are what create opportunities.

We're incredibly proud of the player—and more importantly, the young lady—you've become. Watching your growth over the last year has been one of the most rewarding experiences for us as coaches.

Keep chasing greatness, Summer. This is just the beginning, and we know your best softball is still ahead of you.
