We do not get stuck because we cannot choose.
We get stuck because of where we are choosing from.
I have been sitting with this one for a few days, and it landed clearly enough today that I had to film it.

The part of us that is constantly asking where should I place my focus, which direction is right, which is the best next move is the part of us that is performing. It is the part that wants the answer that will look right, the answer that will impress the people we imagine are watching. That part of us cannot choose. It can only optimize. And there is no resting place in optimization.

There is another part of us. A quieter one. It does not have to ask which direction is right because it already feels what is alive.
Most of us have been so far away from that part of ourselves for so long that we cannot recognize its voice anymore. We mistake the loudest voice for the truest one.

The world is not noisier than it used to be.
We are louder.
