🙏UPDATE🙏

The power of prayer.
It’s being felt among family and friends of Sulligent (AL) High School senior football player Brady Ty Bennett.

BT suffered a brain bleed last Friday night and later had numerous seizures.
BT is in the critical care unit at a hospital in Tupelo.

And now for the Good News as I received an update last night from BT’s mom Amanda through Coach Brian Gunnels:

“10 am (Wednesday) visit with BT:

Praise report 🙌🏼
The ventilator has been removed!

“He is still sleeping from the sedation so he hasn’t talked yet.
A feeding tube has been put in to get nutrients started.

“Assessments from ST, PT & OT will be done this afternoon and Thursday.
BT will need to pass a swallow test to have the feeding tube removed.

“Plans are in the works for eventually transitioning to the inpatient rehabilitation facility when he is ready.
We are researching several facilities to decide on which place is best for BT, accepts our insurance and will accept him as a patient.

“Thankful today for steps of progress and giving all the glory to God!” Joshua 1:9

“2 pm visit with BT:

“BT was alert at this visit.
BT opened his eyes.
Dr Ungo said it may be a few days before he will talk.

“He initiated a ‘thumb war’ with Maxwell & Ella G.
They all laughed so hard at this.

“He got one of his drains removed and most of his bandages on his head removed.
He will remain in adult ICU through the night and most likely move to pediatric ICU Thursday.

“BT continues to make improvements and we are counting our blessings!!!”

Such an encouraging update from BT’s mom!

I’ll be talking with Amanda later today and I’ll bring you the latest.

Until then, be sure to send your best to BT, his family and all our friends in Sulligent, Alabama. 🙏🏻

Please pray for Zach. Zach Brown and his family are facing an unimaginable road. Zach is critically ill at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston following an accidental paraquat exposure. He is currently on ECMO and being evaluated for a possible lung transplant, while his family remains by his side hundreds of miles from home.

The Brown family is known for actively serving others in their community. Zach’s mom, Sharla, is a teacher at Lake Cormorant Middle School. His dad, Casey, serves the community as a firefighter for Tunica County. His brother serves our country in the United States Air Force and has been sent to be by the family’s side, and his sisters, Hannah and Amber, are there with them as well. Zach has also been part of our football community, and those who know him through the game want to come together and do something for him and his family during this difficult time.

Now it’s our turn to show up for them. As Sharla and Casey remain by Zach’s side, they are facing the added expenses of living away from home while still caring for their family and maintaining life back home. We hope to ease some of that burden so their focus can remain where it belongs—on Zach.

Most importantly, please pray. The Brown family has a deep faith in God and believes wholeheartedly in the power of prayer. Pray for a miracle. Pray for healing. Pray for wisdom for his medical team and strength for his family. Above all, pray with them, knowing that Zach is in God’s hands.
