Nolan’s mother posted this on social media about her son’s death

The body of 18-year-old Nolan Wells has been recovered and identified. His mother confirmed her son’s death on Facebook Monday afternoon.

The Ocean Springs native and Southwest Mississippi Community College football standout was last seen on Horn Island on Saturday, July 4th celebrating the holiday with friends.

His body was recovered on Horn Island on Monday, July 6th, after a search that included the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, DMR, U.S. Coast, United Cajun Navy, and other law enforcement agencies and volunteers.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has not released further details at this time.

Sadly, the body found on Horn Island was Nolan Wells.

Just an awful and tragic situation. Pray for his family.
