As a coach, you’re going to be hated for letting politics take over.

And you’re going to be hated for NOT letting politics take over.

Either way, someone will have an opinion about the decisions you make.

But at the end of the day, you have to do what is best for the greater good of the TEAM — not just one player, one parent, or one situation.

Being a coach means making tough decisions. Sometimes those decisions won’t be popular. Sometimes they’ll be misunderstood. Sometimes you’ll have to choose what’s best for the entire team, even when it’s not what one person wants.

That’s part of leadership.

You can’t build a successful team trying to make everyone happy.

Do what’s right. Do what’s best for your team. And stand behind the decisions you make.

Because coaching isn’t about being liked.

It’s about doing right by the TEAM. 🥎

The reps no one cheers for are usually the ones that matter most.

The boring reps.
The repetitive reps.
The same drill, over and over again.

Those are the reps that build confidence, create muscle memory, and prepare you for the moments that matter.

Championships aren’t won because of the exciting reps.
They’re won because someone was willing to master the boring ones.

Embrace the boring.
That’s where greatness is built. 🥎💪

I saw a post the other day that really hit home for me as a coach.

To my 2025–2026 team…

While I was so busy living in the moment toward the end of our season, I forgot to slow down and truly take it all in. Every practice. Every tournament. Every laugh. Every memory.

To my girls—you’ll always be just that… my girls.

Some of you put on different jerseys. Some of you aged up. Some of you went looking for a new opportunity. That’s part of the game, and I’m proud of every one of you.

But one thing is certain…

We’ll never be 8, 9, 10, and 11 years old playing together again.

We’ll never play 19 tournaments as this team again. We’ll never cheer each other on from the same dugout, celebrate every hit, pick each other up after every strikeout, or chase another championship together.

We’ll never compete at the World Series as this group again. We’ll never go undefeated in our final tournament together.

We’ll never spend countless hours on the field together.

We’ll never make the trip to Findlay, Ohio, get rained out, then drive an hour just to play indoors because none of us wanted the weekend to end. We’ll never miss every hotel breakfast because we were always rushing to the fields. We’ll never pack ourselves into an overcrowded hotel pool, stay up way too late swimming and eating pizza, then somehow expect to play our best the next morning.

Those moments are gone…

But the memories never will be.

We’ll always have the laughs, the inside jokes, the dance parties, the tears, the victories, and the lessons. Years from now, I hope you’ll look back and remember this wasn’t just where you learned to play softball—it was where lifelong friendships were built, confidence grew, and you discovered what being part of a team truly means.

I hope you know how incredibly proud I am of each and every one of you. Not because of the wins, the rings, or the trophies—but because of the young women you are becoming.

Thank you for trusting me to be your coach. Thank you for giving me memories I’ll carry for the rest of my life.

No matter where this game takes you…

You’ll always have a coach in your corner.

And you’ll always be my girls.

Because this was, and always will be…
