🤎 What Is Black Maternal Mental Health Month?

🤎 Why It Matters.

🤎 Black Maternal Mental Health Month, observed every July, is a time to raise awareness, amplify voices, and take action around the mental well-being of Black mothers and birthing people.

🤎 Black women are disproportionately affected by maternal mental health challenges — including postpartum depression, anxiety, and trauma — yet are often underserved, misdiagnosed, or unheard in healthcare systems.

🤎 This month is not just about awareness — it’s about advocating for culturally competent care, affirming the emotional needs of Black families, and creating safe spaces where healing is possible.

🤎 Our mental health matters. Our joy matters. Our stories matter.

🤎 Black Maternal Mental Health Week | July 19–25 🤎
Melanoid Breastmilk is honored to partner with Black Power Rising for a powerful gathering in recognition of Black Maternal Mental Health Week—a time to center the emotional wellness of Black mothers, birthing people, and families.

🤎Too often, Black women face the dual burden of maternal mental health struggles and systemic neglect. From pregnancy through postpartum, our stories deserve to be heard, our healing prioritized, and our lives protected.

🤎This week, we hold space—for grief, for joy, for truth, and for transformation.

🤎Join us as we uplift voices, offer resources, and build a future where Black maternal mental health is not overlooked, but honored.

🥵 Note: Due to extreme heat we are rescheduling the Yoga portion of the Event

🦋 Blue Zone Project Youth Health Summit ~

🦋 Blue Zones Project came to Jacksonville in June 2022, through a partnership with the City of Jacksonville and a coalition of community organizations. The goal of the project is to transform the environments where people live, work, learn, and play to make healthy choices, easy.

🦋 We do this by working with the community to make measurable improvements to well-being, resilience, and economic vitality through our pillars of people, places, and policy.

🦋 Since Blue Zones Project Jacksonville launched in 2022, we have been engaging with our community about wellbeing, especially our young people.

🦋 Please mark your calendars, and register on Eventbrite at the button below. Also, please consider sharing this with your networks as we want to ensure this work is done with the community!

🦋 Blue Zones Project Jacksonville is proudly supported by Baptist Health, Brooks Rehabilitation, the City of Jacksonville, Community First Credit Union, Florida Blue, Jacksonville Jaguars, the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, Mayo Clinic in Florida, UF Health Jacksonville, and United Way of Northeast Florida.
