Congratulations to a recent JHS graduate and XC/T&F member, Noah Szymula, on his first college meet. Noah ran for the Lurleen B Wallace Saints on Friday, Sept. 4 in Georgia and placed 28th in his division.

You can see Noah compete locally on Friday, Sept. 18th as he runs in the University of Montevallo Falcon Classic.

✅️ Season Opening Meet

We had a great time at our first meet of the season. While the temperature was definitely felt, our runners persevered and completed their races despite the outside conditions.

Here are our stats:

✅️ 9 of our 10 runners competed in a new sport for the first time.
✅️ 4 of 4 middle school boys left with achieving their goal: to have fun
✅️ All of our runners enjoyed the day, the shorter distance race, and are ready for our next meet on Sept. 12.

While these stats may not be based on competitiveness, today was about being introduced to a new sport and getting our feet wet. Now, let's jump all the way in. Our next meet is Sept 12 at Fultondale, Race on the Rails.

It's Race Day!!

The clock ticks down, the nerves ignite,
Excitement builds with morning light.
Runners wait at the start line still,
Focused minds and iron will.

Runners on their marks, the race takes flight,
Through every turn, they chase the fight.
One final push, one last display—
Finish strong. It's race day. 🐾🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

With our first meet of the season just over 24 hours away, we want to introduce you to our Senior athletes.

Gloria has competed in Track at JHS for two seasons running sprints and middle distance but now she tries her hand at long distance on the XC course.

Edgar is in his first season running for JHS. He comes in with a passion for running and is excited to compete in an activity he loves.

Jaylee competed in Track and XC last year and is excited to take on a different role this year. With her strong organizational skills and love of the sport, she is joining as the team manager this season. We couldn't be happier to have her on board to help at the meets.

Watch the Panthers run in our season opener on Thursday at the University of Montevallo at 4pm.

MEET WEEK intros continue. Today we feature our Junior athletes.

Lexi is a returning athlete and is hoping for her best season yet. Alanna and Keysy are new to the team but not new to running or athletics. Chris ran Track this Spring and achieved several PRs and is looking forward to the longer distance in XC. This Junior group has some great runners and we are looking forward to seeing their abilities shine. ️✨️✨️

Come and see them run on Thursday afternoon at the University of Montevallo XC Course.

IT'S MEET WEEK!! Come watch your Panthers run at the University of Montevallo on Thursday evening starting at 4pm.

Meet your Sophomores, Tempy and Georgia. Tempy is in her first season of XC and Georgia is in her second season. We are looking forward to a season of many PRs for these two.

As we approach our first meet of the season, we want to begin introducing you to our team.

First up is our Middle School Boys. This is the first season for middle school cross country and these guys here have taken a chance on a new sport and have rocked it so far! Meet Ethan, Harrison, Bryson, and Logan.

Their season opener is at 5:00pm on Thursday, September 3 at the University of Montevallo XC Course.
