Andrea Dalzell, known as "The Seated Nurse," has used a wheelchair since age 5 due to transverse myelitis. Despite facing discrimination along the way, she stayed committed to becoming a nurse.

She made history as the first female wheelchair user to graduate from New York University's accelerated nursing program, and now works at one of New York City's top hospitals.

Today, Andrea works to challenge stereotypes about disability and improve accessibility in healthcare, believing that a disability is just one part of who someone is not the whole story.

Life expectancy for individuals with Down syndrome has gone from 25 in 1983 to around 60 today — close to an extra lifetime, inside a single generation.
