Level I: Essentials - September 26th-28th
Level II: Applications - September 29th-30th

ASHRAE Johnstown Chapter's luncheon today featuring the distinguished ASHRAE President Mick Schwedler, PE, FASHRE, LEED AP BD+C, and ASHRAE Director and Regional Chair for Region 3, Mark Tome. Mick gave an outstanding presentation highlighting ASHRAE's history, mission, global impact and goals, and an engaging technical presentation on Building Decarbonization, Reducing Operating Emissions.

Congratulations to Brandon Houghton, a senior at UPJ and Mechanical Engineering Intern at H.F. Lenz Company, who was awarded the ASHRAE Johnstown Chapter Scholarship!

We had our October Meeting this week where we were finally able to get together in person and review the 5 year ASHRAE Strategic Plan and have an informational session on Indoor Air Quality.

Paul Petrilli started the evening by presenting an overview of the 2019-2024 ASHRAE Strategic Plan, where one of the initiatives is Indoor Environmental Quality. This conversation led into our next presenter, William Bahnfleth, PhD, PE, who presented our informational session of Indoor Air Quality After Covid-19.
He outlined how the definition of Indoor Air Quality is being evaluated since the pandemic, and how "The Covid-19 pandemic has created strong motivation to redefine IAQ goals to address health and resilience."

Special shout out to our new student members from the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown who were also able to join us for this event!
